Head swap questions

the thickness determines the compression, not the bore diameter. i'm pretty sure both the wrx 2.0 and sti 2.5 use the 'thin' gaskets. the 'thick' 2.5 gaskets were in the dohc non turbo for example, and in general they suck. the difference is only like .030" from what i remember. make sure to get at least a 2.2L bore gasket if the pistons on the 2.2T clear the deck at top dead center.

 
I don't know too much about head gasket specs between the WRX and STI ones, but I do know for a fact that NO ONE running a hybrid set up uses WRX head gaskets. They always use STI.

 
2.5 block and 2.0 heads, AND 2.2 block and 2.0 heads might be different
