well, here it goes, I had my first accident today. came around a corner too hot for the road conditions, tail end slid on some sand in the road, I over corrected, then caught dry tar and put myself into the trees on the passenger side of the road at 45-50 mph, divers front fender hit and broke a 10-12" pine and some other bigger trees, spun me side-ways, rear end went about 3-4 ft in the air and landed facing the road again. the car is all tweaked, not really saveable, I know I am in the wrong here. learned my lesson today, as I am out a subaru..... My friend was riding in the passenger seat, we both got checked out and are fine, that's the important part. commense the "you shouldve known betters" and such

ill get some pictures up sometime here, and since I need a car to go to college 5 hours away, yes im going to part it out. but that's for another thread sometime......

I was stumped at the 10-12 inch december frigid pine getting snapped.. some photos would be cool...

I bent a monte carlo in half on 8 inch pine.

yeah thanks, pictures will be up tomorrow i think, it could have been way worse, its making me think a lot.

 
Any accident you walk away from is good. Each of my 4 kids totaled cars and walked away unhurt. Consider it a wake up call that your not invinceable.

p.s. I totaled my first car when I was a youngin also.

 
Glad you're okay Ray. I've had some sticky situations in the RS. Really puts things in perspective.

When you part it out, I'm down to help strip parts off and transport them to southern Maine members.

Thoughts on what you'll replace it with?

 
thanks a lot Dan, im not really sure im going part it out yet, I might try to buy another impreza and swap stuff over, I have some thinking to do.... the engine might be okay the oil filter got a big hole in it, and the radiator it toast, timing belt cover is broken up but the belt didnt break. and the engine wasnt reving high when it happend...time will tell, I cant start it bc the electric fans are smooshed into the t.belt area, it does crank over though, tried it once real quick like.....

 
Cheer up Ray, we'll make something good come out of this. LOTS of subaru's out there just waiting to be fixed up

What ever you decide man, I'm in to help. My wagons a rolling toolshed and I've wrenched too much on these silly cars. Just say the word and I'll be there to lend a hand

That sucks, but important thing is that you are okay. In everything bad something good will present itself, I am sure things will work out.
