I've had it !

while I was in bangor today , I stopped by the dealer. they charged me 27 dollars for an oil filter , crush ring and 4 caliper bracket bolts. talk about rediculous , they didnt have any other bolts in stock and it wouldve cost me damn near 100 bucks even if they did , so I had to go to waldoboro also today so I figured why not go an extra 25 miles and try Norms used cars. luckily for me they gave me all the bolts I need for FREE. talk about awesome. I also noticed the filter the dealer gave me is like half the size of the one I got from napa , whats the deal here ? I would assume the dealer knows wich filter to give me but its litterally half the size.

Subaru filters are generally small and you have to expect paying top dollar for original oem parts. It's just how it is.

I'd been buying mine at eg. Sometimes get a k&n wrench off when I don't have time to stop in. No mtter what all filters I've bought are expensive and small. And the same part number as a murano with a 3.5.....

well the wrx brakes werent a direct bolt on like bratman said , ive been grinding the bejesus out of the caliper to make it fit with my outback alloys, its dark but im still going at it , I got it all on and drove it down the road and its still fetching up but hopefully it will have scarred the wheel on the inside so I can see exactly were its still catching. I also had to drill out the holes for the caliper bracket on the hub , my new bolts were a little bit bigger than the holes.

also , Chris I did what you suggested to me last night , jack one side up off the ground and see if both wheels turn. they do , so that's a good thing right ?

um you need 16" wheels if your using wrx brakes. grinding the calipers to fit wheels is not a very smart idea

I was told they would fit, they don't , I googled it. a lot of people grind a little off to make them fit. although if I could find a set of 16's for a decent price id get them. and I really haven't grinded enough off to cause them to weaken them I don't think.I could always just let them grind themselves into the wheel lol.

yea...that's not a good idea at all.....new rims are needed....find some steelies...usually cheap.

unless some1 wants to trade for my alloys , then I have no other choice. been working at it all night , I almost have the driver side finaly ground down enough. I never thought it would be such a huge pain in the rear.

I told you they would fit because they are the same as what came on an outback. You have early Legacy turbo/Outback alloys, so those should fit right over them. I have personally done that. So I am not sure why they wouldn't fit. They are just 2 pot front calipers. Not the 4 pots. So I'm really not sure why they don't. I would NEVER have sold you something without telling you a detail like that!!!! I'm sorry man.

its ok dude , they will fit when im done. hahaha I hope it didnt sound like a I was pissed. im not upset at all.

if you did brackets rotors and caliper you are suppose to have 16" wheels if you do just calipers then you can run 15" wheels

the wrx rotors are larger then the normal legacy but use the same caliper

ok ,that's kinda what I was thinking last night , I guess ill just use the stock brackets and rotors. too bad I ground the hell out of the driver side caliper for no reason. its cool at least ill have working brakes in a few hours.
