Ohh, the old bashing for road racing. I was waiting for the flaming to start congrats you are the first.

i'm gonna keep this short and to the point. people who road race are stupid & irresponsible. 9 times out of 10 when something goes wrong, they end up hurting someone else not themselves.

that being said, in my own personal opinion, this guy has the same mindset as me. see someone driving like a jackass? great! get them in front of you so the cops will get them instead of me!

and don't presume to know anything about me, or my habits. we all like to have fun with out respective creations, just dont go around making subaru drivers look like honda owners.

Thank you. When I do get into my car it is rare because of the roads in the Northeast. I am not some stupid young dumbass that starts racing in heavy traffic. When I lived in MS I could have more fun because the roads are flatter, better, and you can see for miles. I would get on it then in the long 2-3 mile striaghts when no one was around. Up here I have to be careful because of traffic and cops. They don't seem to like loud exhaust up here to much. Hence me moving to a more quiet one.

I think my driving record speaks for myself on how I drive most of the time. I haven't had a ticket (knock on wood) since I was 17. So 10 years ago. and then it was for 7 mph over.

Im probably going to get **** for this but **** it. I like to drive fast on public roads. If a (insert expensive car here) tried to keep up with me then I would probally leave him behind. Im not going to do this in a school zone at 2pm because that would be stupid. Yes I see how this could be hazardous to other peoples health but I like to think every situation is different and I have decent judgment. Haven't killed anyone yet

I'll go with Phil on this one, I don't want my wife and kids to get killed by some punks that are street racing to show off.

You are going to find much of the same sentiment on this forum, try racing at at a sanctioned event instead

I must agree ... I don't approve of road RACING, but I too ... in certain situations will show the tool in the car next to me that his car isn't as fast as he thinks he his. I don't try to show off, I just like to put people who show off in their place. Maybe I'm stupid, but I do seem to recall both incidents Gabe is talking about?

Thank you everyone. I wasn't trying to show off per say I was more or less showing the guy that his little 2 seater expensive toy was overrated crap. Soon as I showed him he didn't have a chance I stopped. Road was not busy and no one got hurt.

Thanks for the dirt Gabe. No one can say they haven't ever drivin a little crazy.

little different when you're in a group of cars who all have 2 way radios, relaying the fact there is no oncoming traffic, and no pedestrian activity on the road ahead. big difference.

sure, most of us here have done dumb stuff on the road before, but that doesn't make it any less dumb.

if somebody absolutely needs to smoke Caymans, go race on track or strip. so what, big deal a suby rolls onto a fat torque curve better than a Porsche...head to head on a track, it's 100% no contest, the lighter more agile car wins every time (given equal drivers). no doubt a well modded suby will out-drag the Cayman, again so what. a box stock WRX or STi will outdrag $500,000 classic Ferraris too, so does that mean that red Italian cars are overpriced junk?

yes, MS is most def not STM or Nabisgoon, so if ppl need to brag about street kills go there not here, please.

PS--the really big issue about racing some guy out on the open road is, you have absolutely NO IDEA about the other guy's skill or judgement levels (and vice versa) which can lead to some seriously crazy **** out there and who needs it.
