KYB GR2/Excel-G

Big whoop. Time to bust out the satin black rattlecan and update my (well used but still serviceable) GR-2s to presto! become Excel-Gs.

Hey wait. I kinda liked silver struts (xcept when coated with rust)

We've had Excels in my son's car for over a year. So far pretty good. I couldn't find the GR2s so I figured the Excels were just as good and cheaper on Partstrain.com. Boy was I right, for once.

I installed the excel g's when put in my baja springs last fall. Cars been hundreds of miles of dirt and snow, thousands on pavement (mostly rough), its been off the ground and bottomed out, no strut leaks and still optimum ride control for a fairly inexpensive units.

Mighty Subie just helped me install a set of these on my car last week. They are so nice. I had one strut on the back that was completly blown...Not bad, 161k miles and about six and a half years...

I'm getting good feedback about these, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger on them. Probably tomorrow. I need new ones, so why not?!

I put them on my bugeye before I sold it...they are definitely a nice unit and you can get them for a very good price if you are willing to shop around. I didn't drive on them for more than a few months so I don't have real valuable feedback, but I did enjoy them while I had them on. They replaced OEM units that had about 100k on them, with the right rear being completely blown.
