My GF must be magic, then.her 05 LGT def handles better than my 09 wrx stock for stock.... it's just glued to the road. i'm not sure it knows what body roll is
She somehow "unglued" my '05 LGT on Sebago State Park Road, on reasonably flat roads, at under 60mph, and, ahem, the body, and everything else, rolled.
What am I getting at?
I ran the LGT around an ice oval for a few hours this winter, and I determined, through research
It's a big, heavy car, with a tank-like drive-train. When it swings wide, it's like a pendulum, seriously off kilter.
Good fun, when the only danger is a snowbank and loss of alignment.
However, on a wicked off-ramp, especially with oem tires and the less-than-stellar oem "GT" brakes, it's a b it of a Fail.
Fwiw, I don't think the "GT" label stands at all for race car.
I like it when folks add Big Brake kits to LGTs, those cars really need a serious :2468:brake upgrade, if they're to be driven seriously.
In fact, I'd hazard a guess that LGT oem brakes would catch (beautiful, sweet!) fire
If my LGT had stayed uncompressed (and I'm not unhappy, I got a sweet, complete, EJ25 out of the deal, and nobody got seriously hurt!) I would have upgraded the brake lines, and eventually, the calipers and rotors. Brakes were my biggest gripe with the LGT, in a weight vs. braking ability sorta' way.
At 6',1" I had to really work to fit comfortably, driving, in the LGT, and the passenger side, with fewer adjustments, was a drag.
