Free heelin since 1975, back when nobody knew what it was. So this one day mebbe 1980 or so my buddy Mark and I were free heelin the steep narrow trails at STowe on a big freshies day. ski patrol was chasing us, and while we were waiting in the lift line, they came right up in our face, "You can't go down National on cross country skis! You guys are Outa Here."

Mark was like, "are you guys mad just because it took you 3 runs to catch us?"

MAAAARRRK!

We finished the day on backcountry trails since the patrol yanked our tix. So we climbed up some summer hiking trails on skins, bushwhacked back to the ski area and bounced/crashed/skiied back down National again, whipped thru the liftline area going about 35 and skeedaddled for the parking lot.

Oh well, that was many moons ago.

Does anybody know if they still have those groovy old single chair lifts at Stowe.

Weekends aren't always out for me, just some weekends.

Plan it and I'll try to make it.

I do have a decent work schedule that alows me time off during the week, so I take advantage of it.
