well maybe the other thread about forum slow loads and time-outs is closed, but the problem is still happening up here in Rockland

Firefox latest version, Firefox/3.6.13 uploaded just last week. maybe more updates to work with new server?

still getting many time-outs, fastest pages are loading is 45 sec to 1.5 mins

also several posts made today have not appeared.

wtf, I'm trying to participate here! help help hellllp....

Do you have another computer in the house you can try? The server is running the latest versions of MySQL, PHP and forum software.

I'm with you Nigel... it still times out quite often for me as well. not as bad as a few days ago though.

It works fine for me from work in Augusta, but from my FAIRPOINT connection at home it is still slow as molasses sliding up-hill in the winter. I think its Fairpoint though, they have been running like crap for the past week. There are several slights that are slow and others that are lightning quick even though they are more complex!

At home now, SSSSSSLLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWW . . . . . . . . Took me like 8 minutes to get in here and make a post from home, ussually its more like 30 seconds to a minute.

posting from home, old old Safari browser w/UnFairpoint DSL, site works ok but not stellar.

at least I can get posts thru (unlike my Mac @ work)....he said hopefully. our work system uses wireless thru redZone, it's lightning fast except for MS....for instance I can watch a 1.5 hour youtube rally tribute video (50 Years Sideways) in real time with zero buffering or timeouts

so I dunno whass up with MS but it's hard to keep in touch when it takes several tries to get in and then when you do post they don't show up. there are at least 4 posts I thought I put up yesterday, none are there now.

No problems here in Portland/South Portland. Sounds like the issue is isolated to whatever is between chair and keyboard. Seriously though, sounds like ISP issues.

Still could be the huge solar flares that are disrupting some systems

Alright, so I have optimized images and moved the garage to the side bar which should increase speed. I will work on other optimizing today.

Just removed some javascript code and some ads. Let me know if you see any increase in performance.

Seriously, if it wasn't me complaining I would also say "User error, replace user".
