Do not get Plasma Phil !!!! I'm not sure if they corrected the problem with the newer models, but we had a Plasma TV and within a year, it started to get "burn-in" by various TV logos on the bottom of the screen. After awhile, the whole top and bottom half of the TV was almost completely red and was just terrible. I'll never buy a Plasma again. We recently just picked up a Sony LCD and it's soooo crisp looking, way better then the Plasma ever was.

LCD or LED (if you can afford it) is the only way to go.

them led tv must be pretty bright and we have a friend who repaired them and i can't remember which one he was saying but it runs very hot which ends up shortening the life of the tv
This doesn't make any sense... the LED TVs are supposed to run extremely cool, and use very little electricity to use... LED TVs use almost half less power compared to LCD/Plasma.

I voted Plasma because I own one, well it is my dad's, but is it a 50inch Pioneer Elite. I love it because no matter what the lighting or the angle of view the image never darkens or fades; and watching blu-ray movies on it OMG!!!! The only downside is you can burn an image if you leave it on the same picture to long, but it is a movie and tv machine so we have no worries with that.

Meeeeh... Its all about the light. High light -> LCD, while low light -> Plasma.

Plasma if you can for sure. Get a 55" plasma and really good window shades

darn it.

Hopefully we can get a lcd this summer. Though, 42" is as large as we can go due to lack of space. Still using a 20 something inch square box.
