Nate's brake's don't work. Please help him.

I would call VIP and see what they say. I would check on the hardware kit too. I have half of one because I only had a problem with one side and if it doesn't need to come apart it doesn't get taken apart. Setting the clips back on just takes a little patience. Yeah its a $5 tool but soon $5 will get you a gallon of gas.

<----vip the longer you wait the more the brake fluid will eat the shoes and eventually itll eat them off the backing plate. brake fluid is nasty stuff and eats everything it gets on.......CHANGE you're FREAKIN WHEEL CYLINDER SOON OR ELSE THIS WILL TURN INTO A 20 PAGE THREAD LIKE THE BATTERY THREAD.......

Yes, you can have Brembo on your car

brembo drums are so cash

now I just need a massive brembo sticker on my car

maybe I can even put brembo decals on the outside of my drums so everybody knows how bawler I am

I saw that, wtf? Even buying the expensive wipers and a rear wiper I can't see it costing that much.

ahem...seeing as this thread started waaaay back in mid-March-- might I ask, why the fark are these brakes not fixed yet??? Is somebody waiting to crash first??!!

Umm... might be worse then just a wheel cylinder... couldn't get the pedal to feel right... they worked... but no real feel in the pedal

Did you get a pedal when you pumped it up?

Pump it up and then hold down the pedal hard. If it slowly sinks to the floor the master cylinder is effed. Or you have a leak..

Well he did say he ran it almost dry once. we got new fluid to all 4 points with a good amount of pressure... there is just nothing for a pedal... its stiff when the car is off but nothing with the car running

couldn't find a leak

on a good note... the kid has breast cancer plates and a pair of pink fuzzy dice in his car... could have painted his drums pink

Almost dry isn't bad, it's running air into the MC that's bad. There isn't a whole lot that will cause a mushy pedal. Air in the lines. Mis-adjusted drum brake. Worn front pads, dead MC, or bad rubber lines. When the rubber lines are going bad they can actually bulge out when you step on the brakes. Then eventually pop..

The shoes are nearly touching the drums... the one with the bad cylinder scared me because the brake dust and fluid mixture looked like old burnt up gear oil... luckily the smell wasnt there... along with no source... but yeah.... he had remembered that there is an order to bleeding the brakes... we found that and did it... same thing... when I say almost dry he was low enough to suck air into the MC... bad proportioning valve that trapped air?

Can I close this LOVING thread?
Yes. You can close this thread. The brakes are awesome. I went through and changed one side and showed him how to do everything. Then he did the other side with only my help to hold a few things. We did bleed all four brakes until he had new fluid in them. I also looked at his valve covers to see how hard they are. I think I could do them pretty easily after doing my own. So that will be the next thing on the list. Are you sure you don't want to change the name to "Help Nate, he doesn't know what to do!!!"

If you got air in the MC it's a real pain to bleed. There should be bleeder screws on it... Good luck. They're a lot easier to bench bleed.
