NEFR 2010

i really want to go to this

im 18 i have NEVER been too anything like it

i have a bunch of friends that want to go too, i want too get the most out of this event. id really like too stick with some of you guys cause i have no idea what too expect

id really like too volunteer too, once again i have no idea what too expect

i saw that MS has their own stage!? that would be perfect! if anyone could PM me with ANY information regarding 'what to expect' it would be GREATLY appreciated

i really wana know what im getting into haha its like 3 hours from home

if i like what i hear ill be bringing a bugeye full of guys!

I wanted to go, but instead I will be tearing my bathroom apart to replace the tub and floor....SUCK

As of this moment, Kat's probably pulling her own hair out and trying to get last-minute details straightened out. SO - I don't yet have an official list of those assigned to my team. I know that if you put my name down on the volunteer form, she'll do her best to keep everyone together...but I'm sure that if you hear that she needs some help on a different stage, you's guys will be more than happy to help

As for what you'll be doing, everything from being an "intersection guard" (and keeping folks from accidentally driving onto a hot rally stage), to being a "crowd marshal" (keeping folks from accidentally walking onto a hot rally stage), to working at one of the two points at the start line where we need people, to working at one of the two points at the finish line where we need people. It'll be fun, but the biggest help will be to come with a "what can I do to help" sort of mentality. It'll make EVERYTHING go super-smooth

I am working on stage crews and making sure I can keep everyone together that asks. But as Jim said, flexibility it a MUST in rally. If you ask to be "Together" that might mean we place you on the same stage, just at different points that may not be within site distance of each other. Guys, volunteers are the back bone of a rally, doesn't matter how many competitors show up, if we don't have the volunteers to cover the stages the stage may not happen. I can not stress enough that in most cases the best spectating is at one of the course marshal positions or, obviously the spectator areas. Seriously! I know some people don't want to be tied down, but we need workers and that flexibility is so important. Jimbo is even taking on one of the positions that doesn't even see any action all day. the control crews keep the rally going and see little action, but those workers are very important!!!!!!!!! heck, I've never been to most of the stages because I work registration and herd cats at service areas all day! please consider volunteering!!!!!!!!!!

id deffinitally like too see some action, i have never been too any kind of rally but i have been watching them for a while

always been very interested

now im finally old enough to go out on my own and i really want to make the most of this opportunity!

im definitely considering volunteering

if you are paranoid about ticks, ExOfficio Buzz OFF clothing has a chemical that actually kills them. it is safe for skin contact though. it is similar to the Frontline treatment for dogs.

works really well. I would recommend it.

I've heard if you get a tick on you and you want to get the whole thing out smear the area and it with chap stick/lip balm and it will suffocate and pull it self out before it dies.

Psh...I just pull them out. If I'm feeling really vindictive...I hit their arse end with a match or lighter, heh.

heh, ppl who are squeamish about ticks are obviously NOT dog owners! dog ppl have long experience of pulling the little effers off animals with 4 (and 2) legs.

I was a master tick checker when I was little and had my first dog. I'm still able to pick out the little ones that other people don't see.
