New Guy From New Gloucester

Welcome, Im from NG too so I guess I should chime in. I live closer to Durham and I rarely drive towards Gray/Aurburn, I guess there are a lot of people in this neck of the woods
WOW Dave posted hahaha

Dave: GET THOSE HEADS!!!

yeah, it seems to me like a lot of members are from the general area. that's pretty cool
default_additional_iam.gif
that means a lot of fun drives can be had between all of us as well as teh rest of the forum members, because they are just so crazy close!

Welcome to the club. I was actually thinking about getting my wife an SX4 a while ago...but we need something a little bigger in our driveway than an Impreza and an SX4. Hope you can make a group drive soon!

actually...funny you mention that. http://www.SPEEDTHEEAST.com is a website i just started about 2 weeks ago. my plan was to focus on getting private rallies and timing the sections given. such as hurricane mt. rd in new hampshire. I plan on shifting the spirit of the website though. my plan was originally to go to nice roads, with curves and such, and see who can get the fastest time on a section. the kancamagus highway for instance has a nice section of turns after the first major rest area going towards lincoln. having a car at the beginning with a radio, telling the drivers if there is mountain patrol, or civilian traffic ahead. somewhat well thought about. but i thought of a better idea. doing rallies and raising money for different organizations for road safety, kids, etc. rather than just to charge money for no reason...put it towards something good.

i will definitely have a group drive organized soon

i do not want to infringe on anything going on here already, so ill just sit back, get used to the site, and propose a group drive when i get to know everyone.

Welcome, I'm sure I have some pictures of your car in my collection as I attended most of the CMC events to take pictures this season.

oh mint. yeah i was "371ST" at the time. right after the last event finished i threw on a slew of aftermarket goodies and next year i should be in a much higher class. plan on running fresh hoosier slicks as well

going to be a great season!

Welcome! My dad works for norman david so ive had a chance to check out those sx4's many times. Pretty cool little vehicals and plenty of mod options. I really like the ones outfitted for rally.

Welcome, nice Suzuki. Be warned though, stay on this site long enough and you may eventually own a Subie one way or another, ha ha ha.

that's pretty cool, it seems that a lot of members really are from maine. a lot of other sites include guys from all over the place. its nice to be apart of a locally run site. cobbs bridge is always a fun road to drive down. dont know what the road is called, but towards the end where the dirt goes to pavement, at the intersection where the rec fields are, i always love taking that right
default_smile.png
love the turn there
default_smile.png
that road also helped me getaway from a mercedes clk300. that was quite a scary day in new gloucester. luckily. i know where the woman and Boyfriend (if it was her boyfriend/husband/thing) live.
very fun roads in maine
default_smile.png
I think you mean Hatch road, and yes that is one of the best dirt roads because of that turn that I know of.

yeah, i bought my vehicle at norman david in windham. it was a pretty sweet deal. got the 5spd with navigation

not to bad for an 18 year old kid lol. i have it dialed in for road right now, my japanese isn't that good, so i have been trying to hook up with suzuki sport on ordering their coilovers. same ones used on the rally cars they had. everything that road race motorsports has to offer for the sx4 (other than their turbo kit) has been installed. everything except the body kits and what not. may get the carbon fiber front lip in the spring. just not for winter lol.

Hatch road is correct i believe. i had a Mercedes race after me one day, and that's the road i took to get away. brand new mercedes + Dirt road = a bad day for them. ill get into more detail if you would like, or pm me.

this car isn't to bad for rally. its not full time awd like a subie
default_smile.png
the rear only kicks in once its needed. but needless to say though, it WILL go sideways and hold its own in the dirt
default_smile.png
the "iAWD'' system only works when the rear detects a slide. but its a fun car. and handles like a go kart! if anyone is interested in buying one, by all means ill hand the keys over to mine to let anyone feel how it is. very fun

we don't need to get into details. Seems like you car is a fun little bundle of joy! I will keep my eyes peeled for your car when i go to and from school and work and wherever I am going, hope to see you around!

yeah hope to see you as well! im sure ill catch glimpses of all of you at some point or another. im going to the meet over at the margaritas in auburn next wednesday at 6. not staying for dinner. just going there to meet everyone
default_smile.png
hope to catch you all there!

oh awesome! yeah, i know i see a few subaru owners give me a glance every now and then. ha. i get more thumbs up than anything. its a cool feeling
default_mad.gif

was going to buy a subaru wrx. brand new. but the price? 27k was out of my league. even WITH the cash for clunker deal i did. the suzuki was just right, and heck, i think im pretty happy with my decision. its not a speed demon, but if i want, i can down shift and fly away into my own world...up to the speed limit of course
