Many peeps had suggested this may be the problem, I just did not feel comfortable doing/troubleshooting it on my own!
I also agree that if the tech, at dealer, had actually taken the 10 minutes it takes (not even) to take the TMIC off, he would have spotted it. Not that I am defending him, but I maybe he doesn't work on that many GR's and certainly doesn't have the tuning experience. On the other hand, an argument could be made that the least he could have done as a tech is to inspect the hoses under the tmic, and not just check the visual hoses in the engine bay...
I will make sure to tell him of the issues as a FYI, not that it's gonna make any difference, and i'll TRY to not be an ass about it (I am feeling a bit frustrated/pissed).
here are 2 logs post fix. The car "feels" like normal and the boost target is within what I'd expect. I'm still not sure about the knock learning values and such, but I'll wait for other more knowledgeable peeps to chime in.
did you reset the ecu after the fix so the fuel trims/knock learning would be reset to 0?
that is my guess as to why it is knocking some. because it has been pulling fuel to compensate for the leak, but now that there isn't one, it's actually a little lean
you still want to reset it since the fuel trims are so high. It will take longer for it to learn backwards then to learn forwards, and you'll get a little bit more power and no knock
