Nicest Car You've Ever Driven (not in a video game)

MikeD

N/A All The Way!!
Yesterday I had the chance to take a 2009 Nissan GTR for a spin. Holy Crap! It was by far the nicest car I ever have or probably ever will drive. So much power, grip and technology...just amazing. This all kind of got me thinking to ask what other jaw-dropping cars other members have had the oppotunity to drive....well?

96 nissan 300zx. Supercharged 05 scion tc. 2006 sterling 12 yd dump truck with 350 cat bi-turbo... wait. Cars... shortys bugeye wagon

that does sound decent..

my brother told me about his bosses, he stays honest..knows I like casually colossal. nice car..did say something of plastics howver, as per the past 25 years of cheaply usual.

my favorite has been my own.

I built it, advice from friends..almost rat roddish, rusty, years gaining...

absolutely colossal. I knew where too big was and not big enough...and I ain't telling.

bury the needle in second, 115 speedo...slow climb with easy idling +300hp...into the 160s, still swaying with every racing extra known to the chassis..

when the bs stops, there is no v6, there is no four banger..there is nothing that keeps up....a turbo would turn red after ther first mile...bye bye midget world.. the lockup convertor just kicked in at 136....

oem does not build huge. laws prevent it. the fastest for america is 150 something. I learned it, and earned it..and it is my favorite.

incognito is even better.

warping 3/16ths steel framing is fast enough.

^^^^^HUH?

2010 ZR1. Didn't really get to take it above 25, it was just in the lot

Nicest or fastest?

My LGT was pretty nice for the few times I got to drive it. A bunch of BMW's and Audis I've been in have also been comfy. Ex-girlfriends volvo was comfortable as hell but gutless.

As for fastest....

Viper with some turbos on it. It's hilarious because the interior is complete ChryCo parts bin. The HVAC controls are the same as you'd find in a ChryCo minivan. More G's than a roller coaster though.

A modded awd turbo Porsche I was in was pretty quick.

Fathers race mustang was pretty fast, but after being in other fast cars, 350hp feels slow.

I have 3 because I have lived so long

Young : 1964 421 HO blueprinted Bonneville convert

2nd childhood: 1989 Taurus SHO

3rd childhood: 2007 Spec B

1.Porsche Boxter S. Friend of mines, took it around Boston. Not super fast, but real fun to drive.

2. Dads E500, so smooth

3. Long time ago, friends 1964? Cutless, too much power for its own good..

old days (summer 1971) : my uncle Dave's Chevelle SS454, red with twin black stripes on the top...kind of like the matchin black stripes of smoking rubber it would lay down every time you poked the right pedal. super cool flapper valve in hood scoop told ya when the secondaries were suckin wind. utterly amazing my uncle let a couple high school kids loose in that wacky car. Even more amazing we somehow survived the experience (including the Chevelle)

not so old days (1999): Porsche 930 aka Turbo, leading a Maine Porsche Club group drive up Gillette Road near Camden in the rain (locals know where I mean) and flew into an uphill hard right, grabbed 2nd gear, goosed the Turbo...nothing happened for approx 1 second then all hell broke loose including the back end. Had to dial a full turn of countersteer to stay out of the ditch...surprisingly the owner (who was aboard at the time) thought it was pretty cool and laughed, "I dunno if I'd a caught that one!"

recent days (June 09): hooning a Team O'Neil student's Synaptic built Evo rally car on a 'spank me' ride around the school roads...strapped in next to Evo owner, who said "go ahead and drive it the way it's spozed to be..." so I did what he asked. On roads I knew super well, with lotsa blind crests where you have to start turning before you can see where the road goes. Crikey was that thing a gas to slide around in, so predictable and easy to rotate and oooh what power. 110% addictive.

we get to drive some pretty nice cars during the wintersafe driving classes.

I have had the opportunity to run Last Ditch Racing's Steel Tulip 4 through its paces one night during NEFR. it was just after service and Jomo hands me the keys and says make sure its running good in all gears. so I did..

Haven't got to drive it yet but rode in a slammed 83 rabbit truck with a 2.0 heart transplant. Not nice looking, but sleeper for sure

such as...

Audi Q7, super deluxe SUV, way more power than traction (tires too fat)

Audi S6, all done up with big turbos and carbon fiber interior, approx 500 hp

Audi S4, heh, 2 in one day!

VW R32, world's fastest Rabbit

Integra Type R (absolutely terrible in snow, duh)

BMW 3, 5 & 7series, BMW X3 and X5 (both sucked), Mercedes E class various, Toyo Land Crushers, Very Large Lexuses, souped up Nismo trucks, and my fave the Olds Achieva with bald tires (which the kid stuffed twice en route to class)

approx 100 diffrent Scoobies, from beater GCs to turbo Fozzies to built STIs

Evos, only 4 so far

no Cadillac CTS-Vs, Audi RS8 V10s, Corvettes, or Lambos (yet)

also no Porsches, not a single one, WTF 911 people??!!
