Best: 0-60 ft. in 1.09 secs

Best 1/8 mile in 8.6

My first drags, ever, & boy, was it fun!

Methinks their equipment is a bit off on the 60'....

1.50s are pretty much God-like.

You thinks...Wrong.

I've got the slips to prove it.

I wasted a Chevelle in that run to 60 ft by .5 second.

My second-fastest 60 ft.was 1.86, my best was 1.0949

That equals a quarter in the 11s, I know the STi can do high 11s anyway.

My first-ever runs-I feel good about 'em.

That`s cool man. What did it cost to run and how many runs. THe last time I dragged was back in 69 at National Speedway.

It cost $30 for unlimited runs, no helmet required.

Tech was a breeze, as well.

The 90f temps didn't hurt hooking up offa' the line, either.

I dusted a newer, n/a VR6 Golf and Jen's 240sx, and only got beat by a 95' SVT Stang' by half a sec in the eighth.

I had some trouble between 1st>2nd, catching it just right, or I'm certain I could have broken eight secs. What the hell, it was the first time I ever did it, and my first run was the 8.6 eighth, my best today, and a 1.86 0-60 ft.

The 1.09 0-60 feet was my last run of the day, the eighth it was run in was about nine secs-nothing special. I got in seven runs, I could have easily done a dozen.

I'll be doing this again, soon.

Am off to DSG soon to dial her up from 19# to 25# of boost, and will fill my N20 FMIC chiller system, as well.

Closing on post-tune-freshening, 400whp, compared to today's 325 winter-detuned whp, should make quite a difference.

Let me know when you go again. I`ll try to make it but never know when one of my buyer clients decide they want to look over the weekend so I can`t confirm to the nite before. It`s all part of the job.

Here's my preface:

Drag times don't mean isht about the speed of a car. Driving a high hp, awd, turbo, 6 speed car down the track is not easy and I'm living proof. I am NOT implying your car is slow.

Now, I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer here but you did not get an accurate 1.0x 60'. The fastest Subarus in the world are lucky to dip into the 1.4s on drag radials and tracks prepped for national level events. 1.86 sounds very accurate. How many other runs did you get in that neighborhood? Don't you suspect some kind of timing equipment anomaly when you cut that by ~40%?

Secondly, 8.6 1/8th mile is kinda slow. Mid 12 second stage 2 STIs run around 8 flat at half track. These times have been proven time and time again.

I'm in no way trying to rain on your parade, just bringing some realism. STI in particular suck for the 1/8th because you have to shift so many times. The back half is where you gain speed because you're basically riding out all of 4th and then just a quick shift into 5th for a short run.

Turn up the boost, drive the piss out of it down the track, and most importantly, keep having fun!

I never said 8.6 was super-fast, Trev.

I absolutely RIPPED of the line w that 1.09, the drag-prepped Chevelle was on me, tenths later, with a 1.5-something, & past me.

The "anomoly" run, as you call it, was absolutely the best of the day, and significantly faster, from the driver's seat perspective, as well.

... If a 1.09 is impossible, then I digress.

I think, however, it's not.

Top fuel dragsters manage 60 foots in the 0.850 range. If you believe you're only .15s slower to 60 feet than a car that has 7000hp then so be it.

Actually a 1.09 is a quarter-sec off that time you stated-and it's only 60 feet.

....You have to (just) hit 4th gear in the eighth, and that does suck.

The '06/'07 STi, I know, has a dif gear set, makes for taller shifts, mabye a better 1/8th,finishing in 3rd gear?

Anyhow....Oddly, Hansen and Meyagi-both racers, didn't question this 1.09 slip, only you.

I was wondering-Do you race, at all?

I have a slightly higher red line with the new motor, but TQs about shyt-tapped at that point, anyhow. Tune-tweaks and another 5-7# of boost and after my next rounds up there I'll let you know my opinion about that "anomaly run", as you call it.

My STi will do 11s in the quarter, by summer's end, & if I have to install the meth again ,well, that's no biggie.

Btw, the "slow pass" of 8.6 happened because....I left the A/C on.

When I jumped that Chevelle, I'd adjusted the spring rate more agressively and wasn't runnning anything aux in the car except the stereo.

Dropkick Murphys = great drag music.

I'm going real soon. We'll be doing test & tune then street class later on this spring. My youngest kid might be doing teen class.

Sounds like a blast get it down to epping so we can see some quater miles times. I cant wait to get back to the strip.

Just gotta get to DSG and get tweaked, and it's ON for the summer!!

I think I'm putting the wing back on as well, dammit!

With a car like that

you gotta have a name for her:idk:.......

I'd kinda like to run the Miata at the bracket drags.

slipping clutch = traction control

My car is named, as the license plate should soon read, NOIR.

Or, um...BLACK.

I gave it two years thought, if it's available, that's my choice.

To be sorted after paint, suspension is already done & killer.

Variations of "murderd" (7 letter max) never crossed my mind.
