the 1.09 was a fluke greg lol, my friend chad with the yellow SRT4 has a slip that says he went .746 in the 60 ft. haha, would have been sweet though! we did have a lot of fun and a very nice day for it! i wish ryans slicks would have fit on my car! grrr..

All I have is turbo-back and off the shelf stage2 AcessPort, best time in cold weather was as follows:

R/T: .263

60: 1.83

330: 5.45

1/8: 8.43 @ 83.4

1/4: 13.15 @ 105.3

How could I have run that much slower a 60ft and still run a better 1/8th? Did you get mad bog out?

I agree though, it's amazingly fun regardless... I'm officially addicted.

I think, however, it's not.
It is impossible. Physics doesn't cease to exist around your car. And if you pulled a 1.09 and only managed an 8.6 that's downright weak.

The trap speed is the part that matters anyway...it shows how badass your rig is. The ET shows how well you can drive it

You can do better in the 1/8. Before my 20g I was getting 7.9's in the 1/8 th. Keep it up though good for your first.

How in the hell did you get a 1.09 in the 60 ft.

Your 60ft doesn't match what your 1/8 mile time should be? strange.

Actually a 1.09 is a quarter-sec off that time you stated-and it's only 60 feet.

....You have to (just) hit 4th gear in the eighth, and that does suck.

The '06/'07 STi, I know, has a dif gear set, makes for taller shifts, mabye a better 1/8th,finishing in 3rd gear?

Anyhow....Oddly, Hansen and Meyagi-both racers, didn't question this 1.09 slip, only you.

I was wondering-Do you race, at all?

I have a slightly higher red line with the new motor, but TQs about shyt-tapped at that point, anyhow. Tune-tweaks and another 5-7# of boost and after my next rounds up there I'll let you know my opinion about that "anomaly run", as you call it.

My STi will do 11s in the quarter, by summer's end, & if I have to install the meth again ,well, that's no biggie.

Btw, the "slow pass" of 8.6 happened because....I left the A/C on.

When I jumped that Chevelle, I'd adjusted the spring rate more agressively and wasn't runnning anything aux in the car except the stereo.

Dropkick Murphys = great drag music.
The 06' doesn't' have the taller gears it was the 07'. They put a taller 4th gear in on the 07' and also a crappy tune from the factory.

The fastest times on any STI ever tested by any car mags was the 06' though. Little info for you there. Because the 06's are the best! (ok that might be a little biased)

I drove the car, still on a crappy winter de-tune, 19# of boost-O (325whp/330tq) with the A/C and stereo on, (It was 90f out!

Believe me, I'm sure I cooda' done better-but I was just having fun. Hence, running with A/C on.

The '07/'08 and some '06 WRX' got that f'd up ECU tune, funny you mentioned that, I was just reading about it in Import Tuner this month.

"The stoichiometric a/f ratios (14.7:1) thru peak boost to about 4,000 RPM-great for fuel economy and emissions but bad for power and drivability.

These 07/08 ECUs also have multiple timing tables thyat +,-x,and divide the timing values that each motor runs." **

It makes simple mods a nightmare, without ECU tuning.

Sounds like a nightmare, to me.

I need to get to DSG asap and get her tweaked and the boost up to 25-26#, Summer's almost here, time to dyno close to 400!

You'll love it man...120mph in a 1/4 is pretty nasty.

 
i doubt your a/c being on had anything to do with any of your runs. subarus disengage a/c at WOT, which i can only hope you were at for your runs.

and we all appreciate you actually admitting defeat and listening to people who know more than you, even if it took some accusatory remarks on your half before you got there. maybe YOU should question hansen and meyagi if they DIDNT question an impossible 60ft.

and only say "I know the STi can do high 11s anyway" if its actually done 11's. it hasnt. go to a real race track and actually run 11's then say that.

 
I plan on taking my stock Spec B to Oxford sometime soon. If my times don`t come out so hot I can always blame my rustiness. Last time I dragged was at National Speedway back in 69

I will have to check the article out I just got my Import Tuner in the mail today.

I know without my big power mods and just an exhaust and my AP I threw down a 7.9 in the 1/8. Now I have crap tons of my power so God only knows what I would run.

Enough guys....I will not tollerate members insulting other members over stupid ****. There is no STM anymore and the STM way of dealing with this **** is over.
