Pastrana in 2011 STi

well the decision went down in '09, that is what I was speaking to.

It is too bad that FIA has dropped regs that essentially specifically exclude a certain make based on drivetrain requirements.
it is the transverse lunacy, or even crazier...

subes just walk away like a porsche 953.

they built the best, its in the past.

it makes it all the sadder to witness. Look up group b rally for some history, early 80s to mid 80s... there is no lines written out loud, one has to read between them.

the fact that the best disappeared... I knew to just watch rally for fake entertainment. the real thing may even be in our driveways more than the damn races.

the "110% non-Subaru" WRC rules were evidently cooked up by the WRC's current mfrs (Ford, CItroen, plus maybe Mini and VW) to keep the mighty Suby boxer motors at home.

This is nothing like the Porsche 953. The 953 was built to run the 1984 Paris-Dakar..... ONE RACE. Granted it is ~8000km's. Subaru walked away because it was no longer a profitable decision to continue to race in the WRC. And unless you were under a rock, 2008 forward wasn't exactly economically sound world wide. It is simple economics, nothing more.

The rest of your post doesn't make any sense. "fake entertainment" WTF does that even mean? The EA engine and associated chassis were dumped from rally competition in 1989 because they sucked, and were replaced with the legacy and impreza.

Group B was disbanded because people were dying. Dying. Let me say it once more DYING. The cars were too fast for their own good. Tire, drivetrain, suspension, chassis technology had not evolved fast enough to make those speeds even reasonably safe. Unless you get a stiffie every time there is a car crash, you should undersand that people don't want to watch other pepole die.

Yeah, Subaru or not, I'm just happy that an American is in compeition in the WRC. I hope he adapts better to his Fiesta WRC better than his Focus RS...from what I have read and seen, he had very little seat time in the car prior to Mexico and had mechanical or driver errors throughout the rest of the season. Finishing in a points-placing spot in Spain is a sign of success and I hope more is on the way for next season!

I could rip a 2011 in half with an a10 chassis, take its engine home in the back, drop it in, and continue until the crank could naot handle the chassis resonance form a thing called steel. it used to be real.

unless subes can go even weaker and do stuff like this:

there will be no subarus in rally.

it happened in the 80s, and even as an anemic constipated underboosted egr'd 101hp pansyass... there wwas more than one pro that took a rally race with it....

a beetle times ten, and it is buried.

I can't judge age via the interent, my first rallies were the b ones, I got the whole story from someone a lot older I, back then. I know what to look for... a lot of modern kids don't, there is no choice.

it is a faker to me... I'll know real when it is. the facts play out for themselves. The day an ej owner turns red in self embarassment is the day he got wiser.

some don;t even know a 1973 ea81 was stomping through a michigan rally..and not exaclt losing with its 13 inch wheels included.

Wow.

He's probably 50 times better at handling a car than I am...
You won't know until you have tried!

Come to the dirty meet
