Whoa I didnt even take the time to read all this stuff.. but.. the AP stage 2 map overrides the EGT Check Engine light issue anyways so you dont need it. That is my understanding. Also, another fix is the resistor mod as Dave and mentioned. Use them together and you should be fine. Ive actually heard that if you put the stock EGT in an uppipe with a tune the EGT's can sometimes cause an older probe to disinigrate and munch the turbo.
But.. as with all tuning do it at your own risk. Be critical of everything you read. If you have an AP then contact cobb and ask them about it... but from my research you will be fine.
