Pics of valve stems with headers off. What you guys think?

Might be worth a try. I did do a Motul oil change when Evergreen kept it in stock. It was my first synthetic oil change on a basically stock car so I didn't know what I was looking for at the time. Now that I know I HATE mobile 1 It might be worth a try to see how it goes.

I hate mobil 1... Rotella and Castrol Edge ftw! My g35 pisses out mobil 1 5w30 I gotta add 1qrt every 2k... the castrol edge it burns little to none in 2500. I change every 2500 since I drive hard even though I really dont need to its just cheap insurance... My sti died on mobil 1 and after I saw my g35 eating oil on it I decided I was done with it (I gave it up on the sti and then tried it again... the worst oil on EARTH!!!! Next to prompto 30w).

I have never had a problem with Mobil 1. I am going to Evergreen in the morning. I have the part number for the PCV valve that they said the STI doesn't have. It does have one. It just isn't a regular maint. thing like the wrx. I will change it out just for ****s an giggles. Only like $13.

so you are running Mobil 1 ? if your car is still using oil after the PVC change it might not hurt to try a different oil. i used to run mobil 1 in everything Ive ever owned....... till i bought a subie.

You say this, but you also say you are having an oil consumption problem...........

Maybe you have the wrong line of thinking. You think there is something wrong with the motor, when it might be as easy as changing oils.

Sorry guys it is not the oil I am telling you. I have switched to Amsoil 5w 20 syn. which is like some of the best you can guy. Also, tried Valvoline Syn and same result.

Guys no matter how bad the oil is its not going to burn off so bad. I have used Mobil 1 for the life of the car after 58k mile hardly burned any oil.

Dude you name the weight I have tried it in the car all the way from 5w20 to 10w 40. Still no change. Just put a ne PCV on order from Evergreen. Should be here tomorrow. I will slap it in and see if anything changes. This is my last ditch effort before I say F it and somehow figure out how to pay for a new shortblock with forged pistons.

Try out amsoil 5w-30 in the winter, and 10w-30 in the summer

my ride loves it, and I have the blackstone lab reports to back it up

I wish it were just oil but its not. Evergreen was supposed to have my new pcv today but they didn't. So dont have it yet.

awwsheet. I also have blackstone lab sheets to back up my oil choices and mobil1 has always come back really nice. Plus, I am not downing Amsoil I like the oil but I will not put it in my car till I figure out was going on. I don't feel like burning $9 a qt of oil till this thing is fixed.
