PO boxes

Oh ya, it's definitely back far enough. That's why I seriously thought about sending pictures to the state to see if they would buy me a new mailbox....haha....but then I remembered that the state sucks, and probably wouldn't give me the time of day.

Mine is based on a 3.5" pipe burried about 4' in the ground Threaded on the top and filled with cement. the threaded top gets a flat fitting. the box itself is 1/4" steel formed to the shape of the mail box (or welded sections to be square) The door is on a piano hinge and closes inside the box under the lip. This structure is welded to the flat fitting and then screwed on to the top of the box.

the plow will know if it hits the box.

I'll have to remember this post come spring time.... >

just remember kids that most roadside mailboxes are in the town/state right of way. general rule is 30-50 feet from the centerline of the current paved street. if your mailbox is in that area plows have no obligation (other than moral) to not hit your mailbox.

I'm with you on the POB issue tho. Sucks ass!

Cut down at the knees like something out of Braveheart or such... :-

He is basically saying your mailbox looks like a cross, and he's wondering where the Corpus Christi is... :

Ah, thanks for interpreting for me. Some times I have a hard time reading Pedro language.

It only looks like a cross the way it's laying. When it was on a post it didn't look like that. It looked more like....well, a mailbox post.
