Portland area inspection station suggestions (lowered car)

If you failed at the sticker station... you failed! Fix what they told you to because I talked with the older guy that worked at the shop and he knows what he is doing. He will let smaller things by but nothing dangerous and no leaks... Best thing to do is wash the underside to remove evidence of the leak. RTV over the leaking spot (as a temp fix) , replace brake line (can take some cloth tape and cover the existing hole and they would never know the difference), and bolt/ziptie the other one and you should be good to go.

Like I said... if he failed you on that stuff it should be fixed!

I cancelled my appointment at ossipee today.

I agree with you patsti. The stuff he listed is little bits that are important aka my brake line failing and me crashing into a tree with a moose in it, then landing on my hood which happens to have an engine engulfed in flames due to oil leak on header... and after all that my loose brake hose taps my strut which causes a bizzarre VW like electrical issue due to nazi gnomes in my wires which causes the fuel pump to spark igniting my 93 VTAK optimized gasoline and send my car all the way back to japan where it was born.

Or something like that.

I'm gonna fix that stuff though, it's small bones ****.

haha ... well if the brake line failed you would have no brake pressure and couldn't stop... If the one that wasn't attached caught something it could easily rip out and cause you to have no brakes... If your oil is leaking all over the place then you would have the engine fail or leave crap on the roads that would get on peoples cars...

I hate inspections and think it is a waste of time... and really do no good since it is so biased. The whole modded car thing makes me mad because NO ONE KNOWS THE RIGHT LAWS (people, inspection stations, and cops!).

I think it should be like this...

If someones car is a pos and they get stopped by a cop they should have to go get it inpected. If it fails for safety reasons (no lights, no brakes, rusted ****, etc) then it should be taken off the road until fixed. I see no reason for someone who has a 2010 car to have to get it inspected...

HALF THE NEW VEHICLES OUT THERE DON'T PASS THE RIDE HEIGHT/HEADLIGHT COLOR and BRIGHTNESS LAWS OFF THE LOT! SO WHY CAN SOME GUY GET A LAMBO/ VIPER/ CORVETTE/ ENZO/ ETC THAT IS SUPER LOW/ LOUD AND HAVE IT PASS BUT I CAN'T DROP MY CAR TO THE SAME RIDE HEIGHT AS THAT? IT IS NOT FAIR!

To me the biggest thing is education.

5/6 guys I talked to on the phone said any suspension other than stock was ILLEGAL.

Yet the guy who does STICKERS and ONLY STICKERS had no problem with it. He also revved up my MAD LOUD exhaust and had no problem with it at all.

If a cop heard me do what the inspection guy did at a light, there'd be flashing blues and equipment malfunction tickets to be had.

It's all EDUCATION. If everyone actually knew the laws like the sticker station guy does, then we'd be fine.

I'm glad I went to the sticker station. He knows his ****, and failed me for stuff that MATTERS.
