That... is a lot of boost. The powerstrokes make 30+ stock but they're sleeved. And gthere's still issues with them

Diesel is a whole other beast. Engine design is different, cyl pressures are far above even what that TA motor saw.

 
Gas powered engines are cast aluminum, very lightweight cuz they are used for the daily driver.

Diesel engines are cast iron, that is why when you see turbocharged applications, boost is between 30 and 40 psi.

Another thing. Gas engines combust by ignition(spark), whereas diesel is by compression. If you look at the compression ratio between a diesel engine and a gasoline engine, you are looking at 21:1 and 10.5:1 roughly.

That is why diesel engines are cast iron. The block needs to be strong to withstand that pressure to support combustion.
