RHD build

you should try to find the scooped hood and the rest of the OEM body kit. i had a black 98 gt that looked great with just the oem stuff.
good luck with the build. you may want to buy a lacrosse stick now for paying tollbooths and fast food places.
my goal is to find the factory gt body work, the lacrosse stick is a great idea, i was thinking one of those claws they sell for older people..

you should see if you can buy the extras this guy has... hes not that far away either!

Looks great! Are you using it as a post car? or just to drive around. And what are the rules around using a RHD car for just day-to-day use?

one of my friends was trying to tell me how dangerous it is to "drive on the wrong side" in a country that drives on the other side. He got shut down very quickly by the whole group

.

As long as you can shift with your left hand, there shouldn't be anything hard about it, except reprogramming your driving-spacial-relations.

It's an auto, so the shifting thing isn't much of an issue. But I thought there were rules that you can't just drive an RHD car around because it is dangerous. You can't see the other lane when there are cars in front of you, etc.

I guess the visibility is an issue... I thought he was doing a 5sp swap with the engine though.

*rereads thread*

Maybe he is... I'm not horribly observant... he

found it, it was in the other thread:

The auto trans will definatly going away!! I can't wait to learn to drive rhd 5spd haha. From what I've seen the EJ20 twin turbo swaps are availible with trans for well under 2k.... Were going to rip all the suspension and brakes off my junk legacy SS parts car and toss them on for a decent free upgrade

I have never heard anything about it being illegal to drive a rhd car, neither have any of the cops i work with. the only thing that was asked was is it dot approved (glass, bumper supports stuff like that). where this car was built in the US its all legal.

Its going to be a little tricky driving at first but once i get used to it (and can find a twin turbo swap) it will have a 5speed.

So when is the turbo swap gonna happen?!?!?!?!?
as soon as I can find a complete swap.....

yeah theres nothing illegal about it, but it will probably raise some eyebrows, like a roll cage would.

i would just point out that it is, and always has been a RHD postal delivery car.

I wasn't sure if mail vehicles needed some special registration as a mail vehicle, and could only be used while delivering mail. Or something like thaht.

the recycling trucks at work are rhd, but it's not just because the city is special. driving stick right side isn't bad, i drove the skoda rental car when we were in shetland. once you go through the gears once it's a piece of cake:tu:

can't wait to see this thing turbo

If you go to tradme.nz.com there are a ton of GTB wagons there for cheap. Too bad I have to move to new zealand to get one. They need to change the importation rules so we can get these cars here

nice build, go with twin turbo powah

that is maaadd overpriced. i bought a single turbo ej20g years ago for $600 i think. people are giving away the TT pipe setups since nobody can really run them....

you should be able to find all the stuff you need pretty easy. i have some old wire diagrams if you need them too.

im looking for the whole swap (engine, turbos, tranny, ecu, and harness) there is a company in ct that will merge the harness with mine. the whole swap looks like its running 1500 and 600 for the wiring harness work
