SHE is ALIVE! Got my STI back up and running

hahah, routine fuel pump implosion? when a fuel pump is <10k miles old i can't imagine thinking of checking on it until...well there's a fuel issue. like what happened.

edit: reread your post, you weren't relating the two, just saying the point still stands

Ok guys someone has this all F'ed up.

1) If you ask any Subaru dealership they didn't even now the 06-07 STI had a fuel filter to begin with. If you call up looking for a part number they cannt give it to you cause it doesn't show up in the system. Plus, I talked to Joel at Evergreen about this and he said that on there service for the cars that it doesn't even show it as a service item. Only way to get the fuel filter part number is to go into the system as a turbo fozzy or a wrx for years 06-07.

2) You guys are confused. The sreen thing you are thinking about is to protect the FUEL PUMP from big debris. Also known as a filter sock. Then right after the fuel pump the fuel filter sits. This is what I took pictures of for you guys. That is the fuel filter. Which by the way SoA says is not there.

3) The fuel filter itself was auctually good. What happend was the thing came about. I acutually put the filter back to gether and reset the o-ring and you can still blow threw it with zero problems.

4) Yes on the 04' Sti's and below for the wrx. The fuel filter sits in the engine bay next to the strut tower. This filter only cost like $20 and you can even pick one up at Napa.

On the following years they moved it to the inside of the tank. Only way to get to it is by pulling out the back seat. There is an access cover you have to take off then disconnect the lines and power for the pump and there are like 8x 8mm screws that hold the whole assy. on the tank. When you pull it out you will find the pre filter for the pump. right above it the pump, then the fuel filter.

Ok I hope I cleared everything up.
