Skiers/Snowboarders

I just need to find a baby sitter for the full day.

Sunday River was awesome on Friday. Saw the new "Chondola"... what a joke. Every 6th chair is a gondola car. WTF?

Seriously. Its such a marketing ploy. Its probably the most meaningless cable transportation system ever created. Well besides its ability to bring non-skiing mountain top restaurant-going folks up and down the hill. But it's no wonder why there are only like 4 in the world... :dontknow:

 
So now that Shawnee Peak is open... when are we going to start doing the STM Ski/Snowboard Outings on Monday or Wednesday evenings? IIRC tix are $23 from 4p - 9p.

 
Might go up to the Loaf or the River on Sunday.. Anyone been up in the last 2-3 days, report conditions...

 
Went today. It was cold, windy, icy. Gondi line was decent cause they were blowing snow, but I got a shet of ice on the goggles. Good thing about the season pass, I was there for 2 hours, and decided to leave. Spent more time driving up there. Aw well, Jan skiing is not the best... Until next time.

 
Keeping this post alive, got to get my skiing in before the wife has the baby. So heading up to the Rivah on Sunday. Just letting you know, so if you see the Saabaru barreling up agony, that would be me. :laughing1: :laughing1: :occasion14:

 
Has interest in Shawnee at night faded? I know it's colder than a well digger's ass outside but i'd like to do the Shawnee evening sometime.

 
my crazy schedule combined with fitful snowfalls in midcoast finally allowed a bit of XC skiing on Sunday

nice hard frozen base with 6" freshies on top....aaah, it wuz like skiing in Utah, except it was right out the front door. The woods were like an effing postcard and schweet trax were laid uphill and down. Niiiice.

We made the mistake of skiing like 5 miles down this one trail we know and love, only to decide we were wh8ipped and it was time to head home...only to remember it was 5 miles mostly uphill. Doh. Well, at least the spaniel got a great workout!

I am interested, once we get more snow. So more than likely I will not be going till March. Wife is due Feb 9th, so I need to stay around till baby is here. Don't want to be skiing down the slope and get the call.... Yikes.....
