Speed limiter

its not the fact that your going 120 mph....its if something goes wrong theres not typically much room to recover and not turn your car and you into a crumpled can.....my psa for the day!!!!!

Most scoobies are speed limited. I know one former member here could not get his STI over 139 mph (measured by gps). Several runs and speedo indicated higher but GPS said 139 every time.

I'm interested what everyone's speed limit is. Weird yours is 120. Maybe mine is too. ??

Had a 04 Ranger, automatic, limited at 91mph at like 2700rpms, borrrrrrring!

i saw a video of a 2.5i wrapped around to about where 140 should be on youtube... mine's been to 100

My 97 Impreza L auto was governed at 110ish

2000 RS 5 spd, was good for 120+

04 FXT with STi stage 2 is good for over 140, but I haven't quite maxed it out, so I dunno an actual number

Inski, let me know when there's a free open-runway day and I'll test mine

I'm all for driving above Maine's pitiful speed limits, but I'm not going to max my car with others around me.

That's why you do it when there's nobody else around you

I hit mine on the weld road just before the really long corner. Drop 5th just out of the corner and hold on until about half way down.

Once when pulling out of work onto route one, a big truck turned his headlights on where previously there was no traffic. I thought I was going to be toast. You never know when someone could pull out into you. Take Ryan's bugeye as an example.

Well don't do it on route one that has a bunch of on and off ramps! Do it on 95 up north or something...

i do it every week from portland to fairfield on 295 though, less tolls.....theres a few sections where its nice and straight!!!!

We'll now that I do a lot of highway driving I would like to be able to go over 110. I also found out that my car is a 2.2. The guy who sold it 2 me told me it was a 2.5.. Its a damn shame. Thing hauls ass for a 2.2 tho. Can someone help me out with where the vss sensor is and what will happen of I pull it out. Thanks

If you pull it out you'll rev less, the car will understand you to be in neutral and wont let you rev much.

Nate, I haven't found an open runway yet. I used to get cooking pretty good during my commutes to Saco. Short distances south of Scarbro closing in on 100 but never hit 100, never needed to. If you look ahead theres always another car(s) up there slowing things down to 'respectable' speeds. No sense in going fast for very long. Now that I'm going to Auburn on back roads I'm happy getting over 60 once a month. Twisties all by your self is da bomb!

Yeah that wouldn't be good then. I fly on 95 from bangor to fairfield. Barley ever see cops. Rt 9 also from Eastport to Bangor just hauling ass. Nat your car will go like 110 to 115 and hit limiter. damn shame

theres very few state cops on 95 north of fairfield....my uncle being one of them...i grew up in fairfield and went to bangor all the time, i think we could do it in like 40 min....
