It is going pretty good, forgot to bring the camera with me so pics will come later. He has gone on a couple rides, we have a decent size house so he runs circles from the living room to the kitchen up the hall well you get it. He is home alone tonight so we'll see how he likes that but I'm not worried he has been really good only one mess his first day and no problem since.

Meiko is returning back to our home, as he just couldn't acquaint himself with the 7 ferrets.

MEIKO IS STILL AVAILABLE FREE FOR THE TAKING!

well, LOL, no one is screwed. We are very fortunate to have Meiko in our life. The only one they may be screwed is "Sammy", and right now he's lovin' Meiko being back, because Meiko eats the more expensive food of the two (for nutritional value)-- which means "Sammy" has had his fill today of "fine dining"!

oh sorry Kati, Tim meant I was screwed. Cause Mrs. Pedro is going to absolutely melt if I show her a picture of Meiko.

Pedro, I was explaining the replies to Gabe, and he filled me in- LOL!

I just want to stress the importance on finding Meiko a great home.

I love his personality, he's well behaved, my concern is my dog, "Sammy", that I've had for 2 1/2 years. "Sammy" desperately wants to be an only pup, and has made that quite clear.

What is going on this very second as I type this, is... "Sammy" does NOT want to play with Meiko, "Sammy" wants to play on HIS time, and he can be abusive towards Meiko. I have stopped like 47 times in the middle of typing just this small little paragraph, to tell Meiko that "Sammy" does not want to play. "Sammy" has since been seperated and moved into another room.

I used to pride myself on how fit and trim "Sammy" was, then Meiko came along, and "Sammy" started overeating out of stress, to dominate, and to satisfy his taste. "Sammy" is now considered "obese". "Sammy" eats regular dog food now, while Meiko is eating more wholesome food-- we are trying to replenish Meiko's nutrients that he was stripped of, as a result of malnurishment. We would love for Meiko to free feed himself anytime he feels hungry (as we do "Sammy"), but it's difficult when "Sammy" scarfs down Meiko's food.

It will be extremely difficult to incorporate an exercise regimen for myself and an overweight dog, while I have a thin/ fit pup along side us. And it would be unfair to Meiko if we did not include him in our walks.

Meiko deserves a home where he can run around outside, not be bothered by ferrets, where he can have an active lifestyle. I mean yeah, I can take him on our walks, but when I want to run "Sammy" out, it'll be exhausting after a while [for Meiko] should Meiko be along side us.

Meiko is the perfect replica of a newborn baby. In form, behavior, coos, etc. He curls up to you and radiates with unconditional love. For someone who is wanting a loving companion, he is the perfect pet. Yes, he might be timid around 18 wheelers, but if you or someone you know is interested, and that doesn't bother you, he is a blast.

Seriously, if I didn't have "Sammy" for as long as I have, it'd be "Sammy" that'd be up for grabs and NOT Meiko.

I ask you from the bottom of our hearts to help place Meiko in a loving home, without ferrets. He is a great dog. You can leave him home [for a few hours at a time], unkenneled, and not have to worry about him tearing things up or eliminating. We slept through the night with him in our bed. He tells you when he has to go out, providing you work with it with him in a new environment. He does fine with other dogs, some more well than others- so if you or someone you know wants to meet up and introduce the pups before taking him, that is perfectly fine.

Meiko has also learned to be respectful when going to the bathroom outside, and will only go around the outter perimeter of your yard, when on walks in decent areas, and where dead leaf piles are. So, clean up is easier, or you never have to deal with it.

You should have seen my elderly neighbors when they saw Meiko was back! They dropped everything they were doing to run out and see him. They've never done that for "Sammy". I'm betting they'd take him, if they had a fenced in yard- which they will NEVER get.

Please help me find an amazing home for Meiko. Even if it's a friend of a friend of a friend.

PS I am logging out of my account, so don't PM me, Gabe's account will be up so you can totally reply to this post, and I'll have my MySpace up too (which I'll check every couple of hours after we get back from our walk): www.myspace.com/love21214

Hi Kati,

Is Meiko a 'runner'? You saw our place last year, and there is plenty of room for him to run around. I only worry about him dissapearing in the woods.

Rachel just about died when I showed her the pictures of him.

If you guys head south any time with him, Give us a call. I will PM you my cell#

ok i have to ask. why the "" around sammy
I knew that'd come up sooner or later- LOL! I bought "Sammy" off of my ex ex boss (two bosses ago), and her snot head little girl named him that. I hate the name "Sammy" for a dog, and not fond of Gabe's cousin with the same name.

Because I was working there and the little brat would come into my work pretending to be sick- instead of going to school like a normal kid, I had to keep the name, though it was MY dog and MY money spent on him.

We rarely call him "Sammy" though, it's goofier, more stupid, embarrasing nicknames now.

Anyway, Pedro......

from what we were told, he ran a handful of times in his suburban community, but always returned. (I'll ask Gabe how many times the boy said).

He ran from us twice, once while not being neutered, he smelled a female in heat, ran right to her house, and just hung around.

Second time was Evergreen, which he ran right to a house and hung around it.

Within the next few months he'll calm down even more- as far as roaming goes, when the testosterone depletes from his system.

I mean, we can open our gate and also let him get out of the car AT OUR HOUSE without him running off. And where you don't have traffic to worry about, your living situation is practically ideal!

ok that's good.

My parents had a dog that would BOLT out of any opening and RUN just for the sake of running. and it would be hours before we could get him back. took a long long time to break that habit.
