stock turbo parts

still gathering parts, but as you can see, I'm almost there.

Not sure if I'll be motivated enough to tackle this project in the cold, so it might wait till spring.

On another note... The OBS has 190K on it right now. The only thing that has needed replacement since I bought it from you in 07 was the struts.

i miss the old girl. glad shes in good hands

if your going to go to all this trouble, i strongly suggest you use heads other then the 22T. they flow like ass and the valves are tiny, the stock VF11 turbo is about all they can accept for efficiency.

DOHC ej25 heads are a direct bolt on to a ej22 block, and flow a lot more air and have much bigger valves

just my .02 from someone whos been there.

Your absolutely correct Mikey...

The 22t heads have tiny valves, tiny intake and exhaust ports, the cams aren't that great, and they can't rev.

The ej25d heads are the solution for better performance on a budget build.

However, I am not shooting for max power with this build.

One thing that is important to me with this build is simplicity. I am doing everything myself and I appreciate the simplicity of working on a SOHC engine versus a DOHC engine.

I am only running 5psi out of a TDO4, and a rrfpr. This is the classic build that everyone will say... that is the half assed way that won't make power and won't be as reliable/sophisticated.

k, just wondering if you were aware of that option. do you have a set of 22t heads or regular 22 heads? cause im not using the ones that i have for anything.... also, you can notch the n/a x member instead of replacing it.... i have the turbo x member but decided 30 min to notch the n/a one and box it back in sure beat changing it out

I found a great deal on a 2002 wrx crossmember with steering rack.

I have two pairs of EJ22 heads that are non-turbo, but are dual port.

also Mikey.... I am in Buxton, not far from you at all. I have to have my ej22 heads checked, if they are crap I'll talk to you about the 22t heads.
