The interior looks great, needs a paint job and a tranny but hell for a grand why not, then I can start saving for an RS :-D

i was going to say you could buy the one on lisbon st in lewiston for $4000 inspected and driving in a nice white pearl color ;D

I figured if i can get the car for a grand and then wait a few weeks put some work into it id have a cheap Subaru

I need to put a for sale sign in my car!

the front diff is always connected to the drive, theres no solenoid. the center diff that proportions the rear power is an electronic clutch, but if that failed all it would do is not engage the rear wheels. its gonna need a whole new tranny. maybe you should call around and get a price on a newer tranny with a filter, so you can guesstimate your total cost.

Or buy the Wagon that Stainless has for sale... or another OBS of sorts. From what people here are saying, it looks like you might need to lay down a good amount of cash to get something semi-reliable. I paid under $2k for my 1996 OBS, and although it does have some oil leakage, a seat needed replacing and there's a small amount of body damage... it's my daily driver. I haven't had any issues with it since I purchased it.
