It was rusty before that.

Also, the issue with bolting mudflaps on is, if they get caught, they rip a lot of the body off pulling.

Haha you know! I've backed over my own mud flaps before. Pulled the bumper cover off. OFF! Yeah, being too long can be an issue. I put the flap back on with break away j-nuts and zip ties. Bumper required new push pins.
