Watches

I'm currently looking for a fitness watch. One that shows you how many calories you've burned and all that good stuff.

People think $800-$900 is a lot to spend on a watch, but if you divide the days you have it by the dollars spent, it doesn't look so bad. ;D
Yaah, the 6 or 7 bills I dropped on the Tissot felt like a lot (cuz it was) but I wear the thing every day and enjoy it. I replaced my Festina Cobra with the Tissot. I still really like the Festina, I rarely wear it though. That only set me back about $200 though when I bought it on an Alitalia flight from Milan duty free!

I also like the Swatch I picked up at the Swatch store in Florence, Italy pre Euro when the dollar had some value in Europe. Not anymore.

Hugh fan of the Citizen Eco Drives, Mumma and I both rock them. Seem to be pretty indestructible! I have worn mine everyday for 5 years, I can't kill this friggin thing! Best bang for the buck, I think!

I only had the power run low when I was working 2nd and 3rd shift (yes in a row *barf*) but I left it on the window sill on the outside of the curtain while I slept for a day and it was fine after that.

look at all these pimps showing off the're bling!

i have a $40 fossile watch....... :-

i figure if i have an expensive one, i'll just ruin the crystal or something from wearing it/ working in it/ never taking it off. i hate swapping watches. from like a play one to a dress one or something. that and uh.... i could'nt drop $500 on a watch if i wanted too.

I got one of these in Iraq and wore it for months. when I came home my Brother-in-law wanted it so I gave it to him. He wore it while working at the paper mill in Jay for like a year and a half before he broke the crystal. and since the points use a radio-active material to make them glow without needing any sun light...he had to throw it away...But they are very durable and like I said...the face glows without "charging" it in the light...

i got my new one today. :headbang:

from the wittnauer ceramic collection, made by bolova.

its a black ceramic and stainless band/case, hidden double clasp and diamond marked swiss movement. i still have my beat up fossil watch for working on my car and whatnot, but i will be selling the kenneth cole watch that this replaces.

My cell phone tells time.
lately i've been standing up my phone on the table in front of me while at work to check the time, but still think there are times when a nice watch is mandatory. out on the town, at a nice dinner, business meeting etc, are times when checking a cell is just.... eh....

checking the time on the worlds nicest cell phone while out at a 5 star restaurant is like pulling up to a 5 star hotel in a full-race civic. its still just a civic.

got a pic of it? i like black face watches. that's what caught my eye the first time i saw this one at the store.

it is powered by a Japanese automatic movement. Fully functioning and hasn't let me down.

just FYI it was $28 US

sweep or tick?

hows the build quality otherwise? is it obvious (even if you have to open it up) that its a replica or do they do a good job of faking all the details too?

the build is pretty decent. I have been wearing it daily since Sep 08. and I bought it to wear at rallies to save my Citizen Eco Drive from the scratches and damage from wrenching on the car. so i am pleased.
