Official WCYY Statement - 9/28/09

This is a statement to address the recent events and subsequent employee suspensions at WCYY.

Two weeks ago, WCYY held a "commercial-free weekend". It was meant to be a one time event. The station has obligations, financial and otherwise that would prohibit continued commercial free weekends.

Last weekend, several WCYY on air personalities took it upon themsleves to air yet another commercial free weekend.

Although the 3 employees claimed a miscommunication with management, their actions are a clear violation of company policy and an obvious case of insubordination.

Therefore, Rob, Mark and Joey have been suspended indefinely from WCYY.

We ask that you NOT call our WCYY listener line for questions or comments and please abstain from contacting the suspended WCYY employees on their social networking websites.

The guy from 979 was on yesterday helping out and he played shaun kingston hahaha then the guy from wblm came on and told him to gtfo.

Fake! I worked at one city center for six years as building maintenance. I know the manager there and his name

is not rosensal

or what ever bullcrap name they have. In the video it is the real managers office but. They are doing this smart and are getting right what they want for people to talk about them. Brillant really.

And a side note I do hate all pubic radio. Like one good song a hour then ads BS " but wait call now and get a free wii". And then kings of losers and ani crap from Jack white that evry band he has sounds the same. Gross.

 
All I know is the dude that was on yesterday afternoon at 4ish was horrible. If it is real, who cares. If it is fake who cares.

I use to listen to WCYY over WTOS but then Clear Channel took 93.9 off the air. After that I tried Sirius but could not find anything that I liked so I let it expire. Now I listen to MP3 cds and WTOS. And BTW WTOS just brought a new frequency online to extend range past freeport. The new frequency for you southern listners is 96.7FM. Same old TOS though!

i think drama in general is lame.

i'm down for commercial free weekends every weekend.

All this drama was a lead up too comm. Free weekends every weekend. They just said it when I was working in the garage. And no they didn't come out and say it was a prank but come on.
