I will start riding my bicycle before Iosing my house.

But the big honchos realize most of you will still buy it even tho its $20 more per tank.

I'm going to build a hydrogen generator (google it) if it gets too painful.

WE bought a pellet stove this year (it paid for itself, install, and all the pellets we used in 1/2 the winter).

I will start working from home a couple days per week. 100mi/day sucks when it gets like this.

we may also go to electric water heat as well. Just let the oil sit in the tank if we NEED it.

Let me know how the Hydrogen Generator works out. I think you need solar panels for that don't you?

My parents have a 3.76 kW array of panels and a Skystream 3.7. I designed and built the solar array for them.

They also have a Central Boiler E-Classic outdoor wood boiler.

picked up a acura integra to drive instead of the subaru, its boosted, but I can play with the tune and get around 40mpg if I don't beat on it

Well, I live 5 mins from work so it really doesn't affect me that much. I don't have that bad of bills cause I still live at home so its all good for now.

If I really wanted I could carpool with one of the 4 guys I work with who live locally. Filling my gas tank this week meant I couldn't afford to eat...

Most of you got it right. The US uses 1,000 times more fossil fuel than any other country. Now is the time to reduce your use.

Pedro, pass along the info on the stove you got. I've considered that. Seems a lot easier than whole wood even tho I have acres and acres of hard wood I own.

Ryan, hydrogen generator for your car. Just a small electric current making small amounts of hydrogen from water that displaces fuel vapor. Improves MPGs 10-50 percent.

Mikey lets see this Integra! Sounds like just the thing I need. I've been thinking about a sub-compact only tuner shop.

My wife and I bought a house last summer. I now live 10 miles from work, and a tank of gas lasts over a week. No more 120 mi/day commute for me Pedro.

We also bout a wood stove to supplement our oil heat. We went through almost 6 cords of very well seasoned wood. But we have only bought 400 gallons of oil since July. I'm going to call this week about getting a truck load of tree length wood. The next part is renting a wood splitter.

I live 8min from work, but pretty much any non-necessary trips are going bye bye. Other then that will just continue to take it at the pump.

Waiting for artificial fossil fuels (they're coming).
You mean Algae culured fuel? Wouldn't that technically be a biofuel even though it is a synthetic version of Petroleum? I think you have at least a 10 year wait unless you know someone doing R&D in either Arizona or Spain.
