what do you think about this car?

Not a fan of cars that have already been modded. You know it's been beat on, especially with a turbo that large.  Who knows what shortcuts he took.  It does look clean though, and it's my favorite year.  Might be worth checking out, but I'd rather buy a stock one and go from there.

yea, that's what kinda scares me too, and i emailed the guy, he said he's only  had it a month and needs to sell it, i find that hard to believe, so def going to stay away from it.. I'm thinking i'm going to have to go out of state, there are a lot in like pa, ri, and conn.. so.. try to find one that is not modded or lightly maybe just exhaust or something that way i know what's going into it and who's doing the work..

Also, remember mods dont necessarily mean its worth more. You never get that money back PERIOD. If you are looking in that price range just buy my car so I can get an FXT, I need doggy room.

You always take a gamble with buying modded cars...I took a gamble with mine and I had good luck...but that is a STi with a 35r sitting in it....if it was stock then i'd say go for it

Please stop with Comic Sans MS, it makes you look like a 15 year old girl scout.

Never ever ever pay book + for a modded car. I don't care if they say it runs safe, conservative tune, smooth, ect. Always offer at least $2k below book on a modded car so when you're putting a new shortblock in you're at least breaking even.

Also, I agree, Comic Sans is a horrible choice of font.

I've purchased modded and unmodded cars before on several occasions.  A modded car almost always cost me ~1.5x more to fix up than an unmodded.  Not to mention all the beer money and frustration spent on unmolesting the car due to another moron's "craftsmanship."  That being said, a modded car is worth far under book to me personally.  Additionally, if you don't have the coin to mod the car up to that level yourself, you probably don't have the coin to constantly fix it when it breaks (all the time).  Modded cars are rarely ever a good deal.

I was going to say exactly what everyone else has said, stay away from anything with engine mods. Especially when it's a Subaru, the boxer engines are pretty sensitive to change and you don't know who did the work, or if it was tuned properly after each mod.

The GT35R turbo is one big turbo. It makes great power up top but if you are looking for a DD you may be dissapointed by the lack of power below 3500 rpm.

Ok, thanks for the info guys and ill stop the font change and somewrx are ya selling? Hahaha

Do you have your heart set on that body style STi? They're not always easy to come by, especially unmolested.

If you're looking at other options, this WRX might not be bad, for the same price. It's also quite a bit newer.

If you do really like that body style, something like this may be a good starting point, I know it's not an STi, but it does have the 4-pot 2-pot brakes, and with the money saved, you could probably do a 6MT swap if that's one of the major reasons you're going for the STi.

That 06 is listed as having two accidents on the VIN report.

Sure you can do a 6speed swap, but if you're gonna buy a car. Get one with the stuff that you want, it's usually cheaper and less hassle than swapping down the line.

That's true, I didn't check the VIN, just wanted to throw out some options since most STi's I see for sale have either been excessively modded or clearly beat on.

When I look online for an early STI for sale all I can do is cringe...... you can't find one that hasn't been molested or modified anymore. If the day ever comes to sell mine im not going to give it away cheap that's for sure. Stay away from them  unless you are prepared to be fighting that uphill battle for repairs.
