Whats your favorite exhaust?

I say Cobb's, but my opinion is invalid since I own it

I just think Cobb's TBE tone is perfect. It has the perfect grumble at idle and low RPMS, not too loud, will keep cops off you, and REALLY opens up and gets LOUD at higher RPM/WOT. I like Invidia's tone a lot too, but I feel it's just a bit too loud and droning for a DD IMO. What more can you ask for?

this is what i hope to get

wow, very nice.. im looking in getting an 09 wrx hatch when i get back and that just made me want it even more. very nice sound. not too loud but loud enough to notice.

Does it not have RCA audio in? Or do you mean you need the stereo > RCA patch cable?
the actual harness that connects the stereo to the car. The sony does have RCA audio in and it also uses RCA out to rear speakers (at least it has the ports for it).

SPT catback. nice rumble without ricer edge...also keeps you in ballpark for warranty issues down the line. also the polished stainless pipes and can plus cutback tip look schweet.
Nate, consider doing a stock WRX takeoff catback. adds a bit of rumble w/o big fitment issues. just swap the flange on WRX pipe, bolts right up to your OBS. BTDT on a couple of GCs, it's a win win el cheapo solution.
I had heard it needed to be shortened (or maybe lengthened) in addition to rotating the flange.

Oh ... lol I was talking speakers for your computer. You said the invidia sounded bad ... so I was saying you must have bad speakers because there is not a chance that it sounds bad ...

lolololol.

I said it sounded good, but that particular video didn't (either because of the recording or the DP, but Nate said he has the same one and I liked the sound of his car the last (only) time I saw it so I guess its not the DP

).

No you said you 'liked' it but that that particular one sounded bad ... one again, I thought it sounded fine

That's funny tho, you were talking about something completely different and I had no idea

wrong-o

WRX takeoff catback part fits fine, even the exhaust hangers line up. changing the flange is easy. you'll probly need a new donut gasket and fresh fasteners, I think those parts come in a kit togethr.

Any specific year of WRX that was grumbliest?

I found an '05 WRX catback for $20, and the next thing up in price was an '06 WRX catback for $100!

The '05 muffler has two tips while the '06 only had one though.

I originally had a stock WRX exhaust on my 22t swap ... it made a huge difference. Not loud, but brought out the grumblies. It was off of Joel's car ('02 - '03). Do it.

So it's the same from the bugeyes to blobeyes?

Did the bugeyes have the two smaller tips or the one larger one?

bugeye WRXs and early blobs had the dual tip, 05 and up had single tippers. either one sounds good on an N/A car, with the single tip having slightly more throat to it. .grab cheapest one you can get, long as it ain't rusted to sheet.

if you find a bugeye vintage exhaust with single tip, it's probly off a non-turbo car and won't add much sound at all.
