who rebuilds turbos?

Title says it! I've got a td04 and a vf39 both with shaft play. Do people rebuild them themselves? Is their a company who rebuilds them? Are my turbos completely useless?

doesn't Blouch offer rebuilds?

Don't know.... But after the rebuild, time, balancing you might as well just buy a used one. Just saying

"Buy new" is a lot different than "buy another used one".   If bought from subaru, aren't they upwards of $1000?

Ive already payed 400 for the snail. She's got a cracked housing and a little shaft play and I bought it without knowing much about snails. So

but I'm gonna try and tear it apart and clean it super well and rebuild it and then maybe send it out to get balanced and ceramic coated. I'm already into it for lots of money so I might as well make it a super clean and reliable vf39 and run it forever

The td04 will probably become my first project build and I will rebuild it and see how she works out. If it fails and such I will maybe send my vf39 out to blouch

Ive used Midwest Turbo, back when I was running my 240sx, he did the Garrett on my SR20det for (ballpark) $375.... great shop, with a fast turnaround.... if you don't want to chance wrecking something on a DIY....
