One thing to realize is that most Subarus have less computer control systems (traction control, stability control, whatever the other brands call it) than most cars. When I gas it in the snow, I get no throttle cuts like in the family Nissans. This is awesome for me, but if a friend or my mom or whomever is driving my car and slips onto the gas, there's nothing to stop it.
2point5RS Dan is a strong supporter of good tires, and after driving my Subie this winter I'm definitely a believer too. Snow tires will be cheaper than a new car if you want to go that route (not that Subies aren't awesome, because they are!).
Sorry to sound negative about Subaru, but I don't want you to make any wrong decisions.

Uhm, my friend that told me to join this forum is Brandon Bagley, he drives a Suzuki SX4, and I don't know if he has an account on here, but he probably does. I've seen this forum before though because my best friends brother in law, Tim Bright, showed him a car for sale on here.
And I want a subaru because of the AWD.... I'm not a terrible driver, I just lost it one night. So, an AWD car I'd feel more safe. Not to mention I love the looks and the sounds!

Joe! WTF! I never thought you would join on here. Welcome. Ya, I want Jared to buy Kathy moodys old 2.5 rs. It great to hear you are interested in subarus. But remember it's the person behind the wheel not the car or awd that makes you a safe driver. Tires are HUGE! Again welcome. And get Jared to join. I told him to many, many times.
