wideband or narrow band O2 sensors?

i baby the car as it is, i cant do 70mph on the highway and get the mpg that i was told by others that it is supposed to get. if i drive the car hard then forget it, i barely get the "in-town" rating.
as for spending money, i feel better about spending the money on something i can see AND touch/keep, kinda the same reason i dont care for strip clubs. everyone has their own reasons for buying what they do, mine may be very different from others.
Isn't your car brand new? If you put those gauges in you "could void your warranty!" Seriously any splicing or cutting of wires could void your body harness warranty therefore voiding any electronics on the car if they break... Also you wont get the gas mileage you expect untill the car is broken in and you are running better gas (winter gas sucks expect 10% less or more).

Don't even get me started on winter gas mileage, crappy gas, warm up wasts gas, studded tires are horrible for mileage, getting stuck and wasting gas getting un-stuck, etc

so i should expect better in time and when it warms up more?

im fairly confident in my ability to hook up a few gauges, as long as i have some kind of diagram showing me what wires are what on the car. if i mess something up then ill take responsibility for it, though i totally understand where you are coming from. Im a tinker'er and i hate leaving things alone... haha

Yes, you'll get better mileage in the summer. Your car will also be better broken in. And if you are going to go and install the wideband even though everyone said not to, why even ask in the first place?

Any cutting of wires voids it... It doesn't matter if you are the stig! You bought a new car for a warranty... why waste it on something to make flashing lights!

im not going to install the wide band. i needed to know if i had one or not already in the car so i could pick the right gauge. am i wrong in assuming that even a gauge meant for a narrow band sensor will just bounce around lean to rich? im going for a little bit of show mixed with a little bit of functionality here...

quick edit: does installing my own standalone sensor not void the warranty? im just giving myself a list of options that's all..

the thing is a A/F gauge on a narrow band is useless. It would be pretty useless in your application. Dont waste the money. Like I stated before and a few other guys are here you are either open loop, closed loop, or stoich. Nothing you need to worry about really. It would show you your O2 sensor is working and that is about it. Which as long as you don't throw a code then you know anyways. save the money on the guages and pod and buy like some go fast bits or some suspension parts. Like others have stated on a NA car the stuff you are going for is not as critical as a Turbo. Maybe a oil pressure gauge and that is about it.

My scangauge2 tells me, it's almost always in closed loop unless the engine is under about 70
