many others have tried this approach. works fine for a while, but it holds peril for suby wiring harnesses. the 100w high beam bulbs have a tendency to melt the sockets on the headlight wiring. don't axe how this was figured out...after melting the sockets on 3 subies in a row, I have opted for aux lights on the 05 wag! sincerely yours, Mr Slow LearnerI fell for a gimick at advanced auto, the "extra extra" bright light plugged right in to the sockets oem. I have used high beams only in the 80s mph at night, and being sure there was no glimpse of taillights in front of me. Amazing what they have done with them. The concept of lights down low for fog has also left my mind..
