Very interesting...I'm not a fan of the top two pictures, looking like a hybrid of an '07 Sti and a '09 wrx sedan. The third pic looks different enough to be recognizable as an STi over a WRX and I'm really digging the new rear spoiler.

I love the sedan, however at this point in time people are getting used to and likeing the hatch style. That being said, when everyone crapped themselves over the STI being a hatch only, will that happen again now that it will have a sedan. It will be interesting to see how that plays out

Not me. I'm not trying to say that I don't respect or dislike the new hatch style STI, but the style is just not for me. I will always be sold on the sedan versions of our cars. The popularity of the sedan is very high over in the states, which is why Subaru gave North America a sedan version of the 08-10 WRX. I think there is still enough demand for an STI sedan here in the states that a new released sedan style STI for 2011 will sell very well.

the first two pics are nothing more then a photochopped picture someone made up of an 08 wrx with 06-07 sti splitters and a chopped on bench wing. not the real deal.

as for the rear at least its sporting a wide body... will be interested in seeing some real shots.

^Should have stated in the OP earlier that they were just concepts pics and not the real thing. The article was recently released though.

wonder if they'll ever do a retro update of the GC coupe......(crosses fingers) stuffed to the gills with up to date STI hardware

now THAT would be badass in a way that trying to spiff up a banalized overall shape never could be

I don't really like the spoiler in the 3rd pic. Glad they are bringing back the sedan. Would be cool if they made a coupe. I'm glad to see the hatch go, or at least have a sedan option. I never liked the hatch much.

Big Money says they release it with a non-cvt, auto tranny with "titanium paddle knobs"...

They won't sport it UP, they WILL dumb it DOWN.

They're already releasing an automatic (non-cvt POS!) STi in 2010, I think that makes my prediction fairly valid.

I am not a fan of the hatch either. I would say that the guys over on iwsti are about 50/50 on like dislike. I am diging the 3 pic of the concept sti though. nice wing on that thing.

Never thought I'd say this but the Hatch style is def growing on me. Owning the Sedan right now its nice but park next to a corolla and I almost can't tell the difference.

The sedans of the new body style are just too vanila. They blend in with everything around them. The wagons are only a little better but only from the rear. From the front they don't look as good.

The third STI pic looks ok to me but not something I would ever buy. I just really hate the styling of the front of all the new ones.

Not a fan of any of those pics. I like the hatch a lot better. Its really growing on me and I used to hate it.

Ha, I've always been a fan of hatches...dating back to my Geo Storm hatchback. I was so hyped up when I found out the '08s were going hatchback-style.

im not a fan of any of the pictures maybe the third one. subaru needs to stop just addign a few peices of body mold trim peices and a wing to make the sti different. they need to be inovative and make a completly different looking sti moddel.bottom line they need a smaller lighter 2 door version wether they do it with the hatch or a sedan like this. that way there is no mistakign it is a sti.

the sedans can be nice but need some work to get there like rims and other small mods

i think once people see a sti hatch in person there opinions change a lot of time because they wide body makes a huge huge differnce on the hatch

... Which is why I bought a widebody kit for the back of the STi.

Add seibon's +10mm CF fenders, & there ya go!

...I'm still waiting patiently for someone hereabouts to build an '08/9 STi that can keep up with our "last gens"...
