can you explain to me why I can't get cable at my place even though there is a run from the pole all the way to the house?

they say they can't find the "box" but it is on the pole. They say "it's not within 200' of the house" I say why does it matter? They don't have a good explanation as to why it has to be within 200' other than "policy"

I have been talking with "Amy" and they are sending an "engineering" crew out to look at it.

They want to put up Poles without even looking at the area or listening about the run that is already there.

 
At my house in Worcester, which is more or less in the city although a residential neighborhood, we HAD to get satellite and dsl. There is no cable on my street at all with at least 30 houses! How that even happens in a competitive market I have no idea.

hell if I could get DSL there wouldn't be a problem here.

I am sure you looked at the cost of Satellite based interweb. $380 equip/setup then something along the lines of $50-60/mo for service

So we will see WTF these bishes are gonna try and pull.

This might piss you off... My driveway is 2 times longer, in the woods, and we have TW Cable and RR.

Actually, EJ255.... your driveway is the same length. According to an approx. measurement based on the scale on your map legend (.625" = 100'), your driveway is approx. 2100-2200 feet long, from the main road.

Pedro's scale is .75" = 200', and so measures approx. 2100-2200 as well.

Your driveway is only 500' longer than mine (look at the scale on the bottom left)

by my quick calc:

Yerz: ~2400'

Minz: ~1900'

and on your run, there are a bunch of houses. There is an amplifier for every house or two (if they are within 200' of eachother)

This house had cable when Adelphia was the carrier (non digital (means no Roadrunner))

solution, to find 1500 feet of coax, and a long ladder, run to to the pole, climb pole, connect to cable lines. free cable + sticking it to the man. haha
