solution, to find 1500 feet of coax, and a long ladder, run to to the pole, climb pole, connect to cable lines. free cable + sticking it to the man. haha
No pole. it is all underground utils.

and there is already cable run from the street. I don't know why they don't understand this.

ok new question:

Anybody use satellite internet?

I have the opportunity to get a Hugesnet setup (hardware) for $100

One of my coworkers used to use some version of satellite connection a few years ago. It was spotty during rain/snow, but otherwise worked well. I would assume if anything its improved since then. Since I'm assuming paying the cable co 14k isn't an option I'd say its a good solution.

apparently there is a HUGE latency in the Sattelite (not surprising)

but that makes it unpossible to use Xbox Live/ANY effing online gaming setup.

I think the only resonable option here is to sell your house or give it to me. I bet if you argued with tw they would do it... my friends drive way was 1/2 mile long and he had no cable took them 3 years of arguing and then they got cable.

it would be fine if it wasn't underground utilities. and you are welcome to take over the lease.

i thought this thread was about someone doing body work for a cable company....
I wish. My landlord assured me that DSL was available and that is what the former owner had. Verizon told me that there was never DSL at this residence. Grr...

we will see. and Sattelite is a non option because of the latency.
