Autocross 2008 Thread - Your plans, mods, and more for 2008

that's still cheating. and if i win something i don't want someone to be like well he has a LSD he's not supposed to have, i mean i already have a mystery clutch, how many exceptions to the rules can i take?
what are the other differences in the next model year 2.5rs? if there aren't any, then there should be no issue. this isn't SCCA.

Why dont you just run -6 degrees of camber for sh*ts and giggles :-)
Double camber bolts here I come!!!!

My cah will be like this /--- and go phhhsstttt. O0

Anyone who protests your car for a lsd that is standard in the next model year is pathetic Mike, I would just install it and if someone protests it oh well.

the diffrences between the 99 and the 00-01 are the maf to map, and the LSD

like i said im already taking a gimmie on the clutch. i'll sleep on it and ask over at CMC about it too

Hey Gabe, I just ordered the Extra-S. Me and Ferrari are gonna run it too, that'll be enough for me to order it. Bring Your Own Jug though.

akina, don't get excited about the VLSD, they are nice until they wear out. the one in mine has seen better days, the coupler is starting to go. the good, makes the car feel like RWD some of the time, the bad, it works/it doesn't work, makes it hard to pick a driving style! so unless you like servicing them, stick with what you have until to explodes, or craps the bed.

Andy, did you pay money for those Tokico DSPECS?
Yep!

The konis wouldn't be rugged enough to hold up to my private road.

The D-Specs are supposed to be really nice, but we'll see. I've seen what the other lines of tokico stuff does and it ain't pretty!

The Dspecs have gotten fovorable reviews from the subaru crowd thus far.
Yeah they're different from the other tokicos out there...so far there's very few applications for the D-Specs, so you dont hear much about them. I'm certainly not a guinea pig for them though, both Racecomp Engineering and Turn-in Concepts suggested them as the struts to get. And like pedro said the subaru crowd loves them so far, I don't consider it much of a gamble at all. Haven't heard one bad thing from a very nit-picky (nabisco) crowd

are you swapping back to stock for winter? because that will definitely increase the lifespan of any HP shock.

Obviously the Tokico's were an expensive purchase. But, I still fail to see the logic behind the purchase. Why not spend a few dollars more to get the Koni's?

You forgot to call ZZYZX and ask them what they use for inserts. Koni 8611's. http://zzyzxmotorsports.com/shocks/koni

They have multiple national championships to their credit along with 6 trophies alone from the 2007 Nationals. Koni NA also provides onsite support @ all national tour events and nationals. ZZYZX also supports grassroots competition with sponsorships, knowledge sharing (setups, rates, valving) and eventside support. They are THE Subaru/Evo suspension answer. Unless, you have 10+k to spend on remote reservoir Motons.

The reason why I keep posting is because why not just do it right the first time and spend the money once? Even if its just a simple ground control sleeve setup with koni inserts?

I didn't know ZZYZX used koni inserts.
