So after the Impreza is gone, I'll have around 5k ish to play with( getting a snowmobile too). Basically looking for almost anything, but top priorities are good in snow(kinda), decent mpgs, the higher the better, maintenance and upkeep isn't stupidly expensive( so probably no bmws/mercs) manual, but auto is okay, fun is a plus, comfortable ride(leather and a nice stereo would be nice), and turbo would be the icing on the cake.

My list:

Subarus are up there, maybe an Outback or Forester

Toyota Truck, Tacoma

That looks good Pedro! Wheels would have to be changed immediately if purchased however. The reviews on the 400 SC are all very good.

 
I might possibly get an SC400 as my next car. It would have to be from a salt free state though. But the price on that first one is incredible. I remember when those came out. they were somewhere near $40k.

love tacomas, I've had 2 previously. super reliable / hold value well.

you wont get a very nice one for 3g's though.

 
gc obs and run it into the ground like said above, or a tacoma. my friend might be getting rid of his??

The only thing that I don't like about those is that it's RWD and mediocre mpgs. I would be all over the SC400 for a summer car, I might be able to make RWD work in the snow...

Ya those trucks hold their value! I've seen some older ones for <5k, but I would like a 4 door model.

Also not a bad idea. Im having a hard deciding between economical car and dumping the rest into the Legacy, or another fun car.

that's almost as much as my car.....you could haul that around with a tacoma too!

 
Who has experience with Volvo 850' or v70s? I like the 850's a lot, but the awd in the v70 would be perfect.
