I have never joined in on a organized group drive.Ive run with people on a few dis -organized fun drives.Around sebago lake ,is a great sunday morning, get your heart started short drive[aprox 1 hr ] watch out for tourists at nasons beach:eek:.Another great run is the already mentioned bethel and back.;)We have found that north seems safer[less trouble ]then useing the turnpike or major southern routes.

so.... your bringing the murano?
Hopefully not

.

But it will probably be a Nissan until next winter... (hopefully there's some drives then)

...unless you guys want to meet me in Washington State in a month to see my new car, whatever it may be.

Route 1 has the Mustangs and the Chargers, right? Along with more cars and less curves.

you're right, you'd need a laser jammer to be completely safe

I third that. There should be a reason to the madness. Or not. I say, obey the rules of the road and enjoy the ride, have a decent purpose of the ride. I'm not just saying that, cuz my cars are probably the slowest ones on MS

I agree. id be up for a nice drive somewheres and enjoy it rather than doing crazy **** lol

I've been on 2-3 STM drives and 1-2 MS. I think a good rule is..."keep it under 20mph over". Except I do believe the rule should be ...limit for posted 35 and under. Those are obviously residential, crowded areas and there could be kids, pets, people backing out of driveways, etc.

I would be down for a nice drive. I haven't gone on one before, but I know its like 70 miles around Winnapasaki (sp) in NH.. lakes usually make really nice drives.

I voted no because I don't really count trying to keep up with Erik, Jeff, and Dan going 60MPH in a ~25 zone a group drive

.That road was fun as hell though.
You must be talking about the road down to the water? haha oops...

group drives tend to work better when they have a real destination, instead of just wandering around on back roads trying to restrain (retrain?) the hooligans.

group drive to an AX

to a RallyX

to a cool resort where you can hang in a nice cabin overnite (so spousal units might actually want to participate)

etc

the basic group drive as an excuse to misbehave in the company of other misbehavers...BTDT, it gets old pretty quick.

Nigel, if you find some place for us to stay in our own cabins for cheap somewhere faaaar up north, that would be pretty sweet.

Day one to drive up, dinner together, then sleep, then day two to drive back home.

That'd be sweet.

How about up golden road way and dodge some logging trucks? Could result in a group climb of katahdin with some slight additional planning.

The Golden Road:wh:

No rules, dirt and as mentioned, logging trucks that will run you off into the West Branch of the Penobscot. I love it. Extra points for high speed moose evasion.
