Gym Junkies

I need to get back into working out. I have P90X and only used it once or twice. I've had it a year. I'm so lazy. I used to be a wrestler so I know all about hard workouts. I've lost 7 pounds in 2 hours before... +1 pound of water I drank in the middle.... I had a hard time getting my clothes off myself that day, but it set me up nicely for the next day and eased me right into the weekend for the meet. Blah I need ambition. I'm starting up the p90x this week. I have the time now I think. I will start it tomorrow no matter what. even if I only do a little. I need to do SOMETHING. Working these f'n overnights SUCK and they totally screw me up. 1 hour drive to work, 12 hours here, 1 hour home, snack, bed, shower, eat, work... stupid cycle.

Good thread. I am not a gym guy at all, I play hockey 2x a week and in the summer some bike rides. Working out in the gym is boring solo, years ago I had a gym buddy and it was a lot more fun, and easier to get motivated.

Should we do a gym group meet... j/k

Tell me about it. Losing my gym buddy was the worse thing for me. Having someone to keep you accountable is a bonus. Not to mention its easier for you to push yourself in the gym with someone there to spot you.

I have to agree gentlemen. In high school was on the track team,l I did the shot put, discus and ran the 400, 600, and 800; and it was so easy to work out with the team you laugh and joke and occasionally get the coach right in your face screaming for more reps, made the workout fly by. Now working out in my basement, with the dog as a motivator is just plain boring and quite frankly makes things harder to do. That is why when I do physical things at work (see previous post) so I don't have to do it myself later in the basement because my buddy helps me at work, and it is more fun

i work out everyday, mostly cardio, but i dont mind doing weights every now and then, let me know how that No Xplode works out for ya, i get it wednesday in the mail and post workout i have after max.. cant waitto see how they are. i usually work out at PF Lewiston.. pretty cool place.

What do you usually get on your pt tests? I find that people who lift more, get way better scores.

N.O Explode is pretty awesome! It gets you in zone( you almost feel lightheaded), and you recover very quickly. I found that I can do a lot more reps. It tastes pretty good too haha.

The joy and fun of cutting weight.

 Did you have to do suana suits? Those suck.

I don't do a lot of typical "lifting". For my MMA training a big part of it is Crossfit, which gets me my cardio and strength training. Lots of flipping tires, kettlebells and smashing **** with sledge hammers.

Then BJJ circuits, sparring and pad/bag work to round it all off.

I am FAT now though, was on a heavy bulk for the last couple of month plus a month+ off hard training because I bought a house. I put on about 19 pounds of clean bulk and then 8-10 pounds dirty bulk, got my gut back, which sucks. Just starting to cut down again(5 pounds off in 3 weeks).

In terms of supp's be careful with all that stuff: protein, creatine and a good vitamin stack is all most people need.

that no explode is nuts. i especially love the description on the side of the container. me and my friends use to take that to stay up gaming all night. we are bringing it to vegas with us so we dont have to sleep lol

So I started a diet three weeks ago. I went from eating everything to:

breakfast: oatmeal, 2 eggs, fruit

lunch: chicken breast, fruit

supper: chicken breast, salad, fruit

I also changed up my workout form tradional lifting, to high intensity, lots of reps, lots of push ups, and lots of pull ups.

Since starting the new workout and diet, I feel like I leaned out quite a bit, which was the goal. Also I'm really trying to get that ever coveted six pack, which I'm getting pretty damn close.

I was 185 3 weeks ago, and I have a height and weight with the army on Monday. I'm really excited to see the results. I know it's only three weeks, but such a drastic change in everything made a sizable difference.

Lets just see how long I can stay on this diet(I realllllly want some ****ing pizza)

Well... i have the bug.

been going to the gym 4-5 days a week for the past two months. set up a weight bench at work, so i lift there too.

have been taking EAS Myoplex Deluxe for a long time now, but just bought a metric-A$Sload of stuff off of bb.com couple days ago. .. .

local lady here does a bootcamp, and i am strongly considering joining that as well.

so, in theory, stuff's gonna get serious now.
