I guess its the sign of the times.

My house was broken into last night, very early in the evening, while we were home. No one heard a thing, not even the dogs. Our basement door was unlocked. When I went around to lock up the house before bed I saw that the basement door was open and a bunch of stuff from my work bench was out in the driveway. What a sickening feeling that is. They also routed thru my wife's car. I don't believe anything is gone, thankfully. But I'm pretty angry this went on while we were home and they were stupid enough and wacko enough to try this during such early hours. I might have scared them off when I hit the car remotes to lock them right before bed. I dont have any handguns or shot guns but if I ever meet this zipper head in my house I'm sure there will be violence.

 
Wow, that sucks!! I can't stand people with the nerve to do something like that, and I can only imagine how it makes you guys feel. Was anything actually missing?

 
I don't know what to say, WOW!!!!!

I'm glad nothing happened to you, the boys, or your wife. You really have to wonder about the mental state of someone that will do that while you're obviously home.

 
Nothing missing as far as I know, I've checked everything and then checked it again and again. The stuff on the work bench was all out in the driveway like they were going to pile it up out there then lug it off. But for whatever reason they just left.

It really bugs me because the light was on, door wide open, and they could see all my welding stuff and tools (heavy things) which is far more expensive than what was out in the driveway, so I fear they will be back.

So, prevention while we're home is just locking ourselves inside (yup, just like crack town Miami). I can not prevent it if we are not home. YAY, welcome to Maine. "A great place to raise a family."

as horrible as it is, they're likely to do it again, just in a more calculated way. i'd get some sort of fragging apparatus asap.

 
Yeah maybe rig up something to make it harder to get in. I dunno, but man that would piss me off. I have always had the fear of someone breaking into my shed and stealing my tools and stuff!! It's just sad

 
I always keep my doors locked, and yeap get yourself a nice 12gauge with some 00 buck, that will ruin their day

I most likely lived in the 'ghetto' zone that's why. Now the place that my mom is still living has gotten worse. Fights including stabbing and deaths. Gunshots, horrible. Hopefully my brother gets her out of there asap once he gets back from the Air Force.

A number of years ago-one nite my shop got broken into,,mess made gas stolen...next nite they come back,steal hand tools and small stuff.:iam:3rd nite[stupid,young gready?]they come back[2 of them with a knife,i have it:D] to find me,with my walther camped out with the trained german shepherd.......You have my # ...Paul

 
I have been thinking about 357 lever action rifles recently. You can shoot 38 special and 357mag. You can still hunt with them and the ammo is cheap enough to pop lots of holes in many milk jugs. And if I ever got a pistol I'd already have ammo for it. Not for home security, because people usually end up with their guns stolen before they get a chance to use them as home security. I'd get it for fun. The 30-30 is for home security. You can see how much good that did me. I never knew thief was here.

 
Call police.make report...get cheep survailience equipment..get seen.acting like madman going around neighborhood .

 
i think you should rig up your paintball gun so the next time if there is a next time it goes into full woot on thier ars

Hey man I am glad you folks are all right. Sounds like local punks that probably watched your living habits. Just found out today that there have been 10 breakins in the Berwicks recently. These guys are armed and are looking for gold jewelry and watchs that they mail in to the gold redemeption companies. The towns are not pubicizing these robberies but the word is spreading fast now.
