Into of Dodge Peon

Well at leasts it's WRB.

I say strip it out, build the motor, cage, lightweight wheels, and rally the **** out of it.

welcome. And you're not the first Neon on here, so ppl wont discriminate hard

I saw this car at the Mollyockette Day car show in Bethel maybe...3 years ago. Caught my eye because my sister drives a blue '96 Neon too, but without lambo doors. Welcome to the club.

I would say to either 1) Drop the OMG heavy rims you have on the car plus the gull wing doors that weigh a ton from the kit to put them on. Your car's accleration would problay go up by atleast a 1/2 sec from 0-60 from doing this.

2) Forget what I said above. Get a Dodge Neon SRT4 and then get the motor that is pretty sturdy and a good bang for the buck car.

3) Kill the last two things I said and ditch the neon idea and either go awd or rear wheel drive so you can have a real car and do nice things with it.

This is coming from a guy that has owned a fwd car and finally gave up on throwing money at the car to have wheel hop and understeer out the window (which never happend by the way).

Sorry to be so blut but I wish someone was with me before I purchesed a brand new $27k car then threw like $15k of money into it just to have it be out ran on the track and road by rear wheel and awd cars. So $40k later I traded the car in and only go $12k out of it. So yea I lost my A$$. I wish someone told me what I am telling you. Stop wasting your money and get a SUBIE!

Well see that was your personal experience. You want to go fast where me on the other hand could really care less about how fast my car goes. Whats the hurry? To the next stop sign? lol What you have stated though are all true good statements don't get me wrong. I would rather my car look good and flashy and be a complete package then have it be stock looking in appearance but go fast as hell. I fully intend of buying a Subaru. I'm in the works of buying one as it is. Looking at a Legacy. Going to mod it lightly but overall it will take place of my winter beater and be my year round beater but I would actually take care of this one.

i can sort of see what you're saying here...

I couldn't see myself buying a modern car of today such as the EVO or the STI because you cant take pride in something you bought moded from the factory
but this one here isn't going to be a popular statement 'round these parts. we like our cars to be cars, which are high performance driving machines. we don't like our cars to be fashion statements. especially not ones that might be ed hardy.

also. no knocking a dodge neon here. some of my favorite car related memories are going to lime rock race track every memorial day and watching these ugly creatures race.

My mother always taught me if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all. The only thing I have to say is if you plan on doing that to a subaru please save it for someone who will appreciate it and use it for what it was made for.

Well that quote was not meant to offend anybody. That's why I said I understand that people on this forum may not modify the exterior of their car but they do highly modify the motor so even though the car physically looks like it's factory under the hood is another story. Sorry if that statement was offensive to anybody on the forum. It was not intended to be.

ugly creature is right. That is just a shame to see. I don't care what type of car it is. If someone did that to any car they should be disqualified or something that's just entirely wrong.

A Subaru's sole purpose was not meant to go fast and rally the crap out of them. I respect your statement because everybody is entitled to their own opinion and should definitely voice them. In my opinion if the Subaru was only meant to be a rally style car and go fast then why would they bother putting so much time in the styling of the vehicle. If that's what people wanted was a fast car then they really wouldn't give a damn what it looked like. I do plan on cosmetically modifying my Subaru when I get it. It will have some performance based mods but it will primarily be a year round vehicle so I wont mod it heavily like my current cars are. In some peoples eyes what I've done is not even modifying to them. It is just "simple bolt on crap" as they call it.

Wrongo

a lot of subarus were built to go fast and rally, but were detuned and had bits added to be sold as street cars, ie wrx, and sti.

"About "WRX", WR obviously stands for "World Rally", and "X" stands for the mathematical symbol for the unknown, that means its possibility is infinite. I believe "Cross Country" is also included in that possibility, don't you think?"

I see. Well I'll insert my foot in mouth now for my statement. I know that my views in the car world are vastly different from the majority of this forum. I know that most of the time I will get criticized for what I want to do with my cars and my soon to own Subaru for that matter. I hope everyone here on the forum can at least look at it the way I do. Even though you may not like somebody's car due to the make and model or because of the changes they've made you should still respect the fact that what one has done with their car is a reflection of what they like. They did not do it do appeal to everyone else. They did it because they like it. Some of the cars I have looked at in the gallery and on personal profiles appear mostly stock cosmetically. Knowing a little bit about cars I can pick out some of the mods and there is not a car on here that doesn't deserve respect for the work that has gone into it. So I apologize for my comment of Subaru's not being built for rally and race but please don't come at me and tell me to not bother buying a Subaru if I plan to mod it in a fashion you may not agree with.
