Into of Dodge Peon

Wrongoa lot of subarus were built to go fast and rally, but were detuned and had bits added to be sold as street cars, ie wrx, and sti.

"About "WRX", WR obviously stands for "World Rally", and "X" stands for the mathematical symbol for the unknown, that means its possibility is infinite. I believe "Cross Country" is also included in that possibility, don't you think?"

Without a doubt the WRX is an amazing car and phenomenal when it comes to rally. Thanks for the added info. I haven't researched much into the Subaru realm of things other then the Legacy.

For show or for go, subarus rock. I think that most of us like to shine up our cars really nice from time to time...and then go and get them muddy! But there are some folks who take a lot of pride in the looks of their car....kudos to peon for joining our club! I hope you get a subaru man and make it something special!

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. I definitely like to go fast but at the same time being able to see peoples reactions on how I transformed a neon into something that actually looks cosmetically appealing and not just some hunk of crap somebody put a set of $20 rims and a fiberglass unpainted body kit on. I am definitely going to get a Subaru for sure without a doubt. I've been talking to Nate (WRXnate) and he is going to help me mod it the right way once I get it.

Hey I know that car, last time I saw it was at a car show ikn the parking lot of the new balance outlet in Oxeford, Me. I was parked right next to it. Only way I figured that one out is because its on the background of my computer. But it is a nice car. Lot of work put into it. I will take that car over any jetta or civic any day.

I see you around town all the time. That thing is sweet. Love the doors, it must be cool swinging out of it. I remember seeing it in pieces at Marc's Auto Body years ago.

For the record, my bugeye don't get dirty!

only cause it's too quick for dirt to stick

Its good that you have a passion for cars and a good head on your shoulders. Listen to what advice wrxnate has to offer and you will do just fine. About 6 years ago I probally would have thought your car was awesome but its funny how your taste can change dramaticaly over the years. Im sure there is still a following out there for a car like yours but then again you dont need me to tell you that.

hey welcome aboard my jaw definatly dropped when i saw the post i figured it had to be a joke. im one of the stay pretty subaru guys who likes to keep his car clean and shiny and avoid dirt and mud. i understand both points that u and other peopel are making. im all for going for a show car over a built up tuned car but i have never understood it in a car that's just slow as hell stock. like somone had mentioned had u done with a srt4 you would atleast have a little bit of balls behind all the bling. its great if you have a tricked out looking car but when a mini van can can take you in the performance department somethign is wrong with that. but on afinall note i do apreciate all the work that goes into moddign the looks of a car liek that as long as it was done mostly by you and not brought to a garage to do

Thanks guys for the welcomes. It's definitely appreciated because when I first got the car all I got was negative feed back asking what I was thinking and that I was stupid for trying it. Now that I have transformed it I get a lot more respect in the aspect of taking something absolutely ugly and making it appealing to the eye.

The mini van part just caught me off guard but you are definitely not lying. With the added weight, mostly coming from door hinges, wheels, and stereo. I contemplated about the SRT-4 swap for quite a while. Where I'm not so determined to make the car go as fast as it possibly can it was a waste of my time to bother investing the money for that motor and then making all the necessary mods to make it fit and work properly in the first gen. There are plenty of threads on forums with the how to on it plus trouble shooting for problems others have occurred that would make an SRT-4 swap easier. I want the car to have a little more go but nothing meant for a track setting. I sat down with Aaron from M&A last Saturday to talk about a minor build to safely boost the motor without blowing head gaskets and transmissions which it's known for. In the end I will definitely be happy with it once the motor is finished and at least this way if I want to continue modding the motor from that point it's already had the basics done to it so I can just continue from there. Thanks again for your thoughts though. Definitely appreciated.

You can make a lot of power on the 420a... that trans is another story!

Pull the head put a new hg on it and some arp studs. Put a 50trim and make about 250-300whp on lowish boost.

Now I was told if I had nothing nice to say not to say it... but I never listen to anything my parents said...

I hate cars with a body kit... I hate Systems... I hate wings and crazy doors... I hate rims that look like pizza trays...

I am all about taking the stock body and adding little things like (oem/jdm/edm) lips and diffusers and keeping it clean... Now I pushed the line with my car and get called rice now and then but I love the way my car looks (my g35) and dont care what others say.

( I understand the all show no go if its a daily driver... buy your car is not a daily driver, look at it!)

Now that being said your car is yours... if you like it great! If you dont burn it!!! Not many are going to like the things you did since you are over the top. Hey I like rolled fenders / stretched tires/ slammed to the ground dragging parts (only one person in the car at a time) kinda rides... Enjoy the NEON..

If I had your car I would make the thing 400whp and when someone laughed at it I would do a burnout down the road and ask them how they liked getting beat by a rice box!

(we used to do it in my friends flat black (with pee pees painted on it) turbo nitrous civic... it was fun racing c6 corvettes and passing them in a burnout at 80!!!).

Well I thank you for your honest opinion. At least your not afraid to state what you liked and disliked. As you said that if I like it then that's what matters. It is a daily driver in the summer. From April till November I drive that car every day rain or shine. I cant stand the trailer queens. Cars need to be driven. I've been told to put a new HG and the APR head studs and run around 7 pounds of boost and it would be safe as long as I did some upgrading to the trans so that way it wouldn't blow up on me. Eventually I'd like to build it to something substantial but in the end it probably wouldn't be worth it to ruin all of the hard work that's gone into it. I would do exactly what you've done in terms of minor cosmetic mods. Just enough to give it functional style. Slamming by corvettes is definitely bad ass. I would have loved to see that.

I couldn't imagine having that much power coming out of a small car like that. That must be completely ridiculous.
