Update if anyone cares, that place I mentioned above had terrible reviews online, and my mechanic said he wouldn't install a motor from them if I bought one, so a different, more expensive path has been chosen. still a Reman long block, having him install it since baby is due Sunday and I don't want to deal with an engine swap. Some people have said I'm crazy for putting almost 3k into an engine for this, but I can't find another low mileage vehicle garaged it's whole life with all records for that money. Honestly if I could find another minty SUV to tow my trailer around for that money I'd do it, but this one had sentimental value. Pics this weekend after I finish the other rocker, might do a group shot with all the scoobies too

Rocker fixed, noticed my muffler had a hole starting while I was under it, not sure if I want to replace it with "performance" or replacement muffler, so far on YouTube it's hard to get a feel for how they sound because everyone punches out their cat

After 4 weeks my guy finally got everything together and got the new long block in. I didn't realize how involved the process was on this rig since the front end had to come out. But it's alive, been through the initial break in and going for road test tomorrow. Going to be replacing the plastic front end plastic thing that "protects" the oil filter block with aluminum tread plate, taller tires soon along work better sound system....if I can sell a forester and a log arch

Had to replace a vacuum line to get 4wd working again, the old one wad a bit punky. Also had a tapping sound that bugged the hell out of me, finally figured out it was serp belt Tensioner. Changed that in the parking lot at work a few minutes ago, no noises now but the sleight grumble if the new "OEM"exhaust
